What organization has been the most meaningful to at CMU?
“I decided to try figure skating in high school after seeing a pairs couple skating on a public session at my local ice rink. On a whim, I started taking lessons and immediately fell in love with the sport. I found an amazing coach and even started to get pretty good! So, when I heard that Carnegie Mellon had started a figure skating team I was really excited to join it. I joined the team my freshman year, was on the board at the end of my freshman year, and became the president my junior year. I’ve never looked back.
Figure skating has been such a good constant in my life. Whenever I feel stressed or am struggling, I go to the ice rink and feel so much better. The outside world doesn’t exist when I’m at the rink and I get to express myself and stay in shape without having to worry about any stressors outside of skating. I’ve loved to be able to continue that passion at CMU and bring my love of skating into the CMU community.”
