I have a list of 92 topics for Woke Walk videos, if I dont count the box of index cards and Post-its sticking out of books and pencil notes all over pages. Not to mention the ideas my followers are always sending me.

Why TF are White people such complete a$$holes? There was no before racism in this country and there is, apparently no end.

I honestly didn't know 75% of the stuff I talk about until this surprise plunge into anti-racism influencerhood. Sometimes I know an overview of a story but usually not. I thought I would do this for a few months and run out of material. But my list just gets longer and longer.

When you see a Black person, please be kind to them. If they act defensive, just suck it up and keep being kind, and go on your way, understanding that they may live waiting for the next shoe to drop. A white shoe. And it goes back to before America was a country. And people who look like me do that to them, and it breaks my heart.

Quick Take
In 1906 the Bronx Zoo displayed Ota Benga, born Mbenga of the Mbuti people, in the Monkey House. He was forced into a cage by day, released at night, and later ended his own life.

I'm asking BIPOC this question both to improve my own understanding, how I walk in this world, and to learn things directly from you that I can share with White people who may be just starting to deconstruct or recognize their own racism and privilege.

I heard from Jane Elliot's daughter today. Jane is the educator who is known for her brown eyes/blue eyes exercises.

Her daughter contacted me to praise my work and told me it wouldn't be easy.

I am honored.

A miracle.

You know the videos I've been posting? And you know my political painting series?

Today someone bought one. The one about explaining the election to cats. Its been paid for. The original, not a print.

I haven't sold a painting in months. I haven't been marketing. I have just been talking about racism in America.

And today I sold a painting about explaining the election to cats because someone went from my videos to my website.

I feel so happy that somehow my videos and my art...

Since im spending my days editing my book for its second edition and don't have much time to paint, I'm embroidering in the evenings while watching TV. The book is a new edition of Turning Fierce Dogs Friendly. The embroidery is whatever comes to mind.
