The Pittsburgh Steelers believed they were fielding one of the best defenses in the league when they entered the 2025 season.

In hindsight, describing the Steelers' highest-paid defense in the league (again) as the "best" may not have been the best word choice.

THE PITTSBURGH STEELERS KNOW THEY ARE RUNNING OUT OF TIME

The defense for Pittsburgh knows they are talented, and that they can better than they have the past few weeks.

“We can learn from this, but the hourglass is flowing and the sand is falling through,” Cam Heyward said. “There’s not a lot of time for mistakes.”

“We have a lot of things that need to be fixed and be fixed quickly,” T.J. Watt said. “ We need to be playing our best football in this stretch of the season. We need to get better and get better quickly.”

Once with a 4-1 stranglehold on the AFC North, the Pittsburgh Steelers are now tied with the Baltimore Ravens - tumbling out of the playoff picture.

While Jalen Ramsey expressed his displeasure of losing 31-28 to the Chicago Bears in a sparse twenty words, teammate Cam Heyward gave more insight on the Steelers trend as of lately: “That we’re losing,” said fellow veteran and de facto team spokesperson Cam Heyward. “If we make a couple plays at the end and we win this game, we say, ‘Oh, we’re moving forward and we can learn from this.’ But the hourglass is going, and the sand is falling through. There’s not a lot of time for mistakes.”

STEELERS LOSE ON ROAD TO BEARS

The Pittsburgh Steelers chose precaution when it came to the starting QB today, so the injured Aaron Rodgers gave way to Mason Rudolph.

It was back and forth all game, but even a defensive touchdown for the Steelers wasn't enough to beat Chicago. Rudolph finishes 24/31 for 171 yards and a touchdown, with an interception.

The Pittsburgh Steelers has seen two players exit todays game against the Chicago Bears, both are questionable to return.

Wide receiver DK Metcalf exited the game and was seen being checked for an ankle injury. Metcalf scored the Steelers’ first touchdown of the game.

Cornerback Joey Porter Jr. exited the game, and a hip injury has tagged him as questionable to return in the third quarter.

BREAKING: RODGERS WILL NOT PLAY TODAY

Ahead of today's Pittsburgh Steelers game against the Chicago Bears, head coach Mike Tomlin provided CBS Sports' Evan Washburn with clarity on Aaron Rodgers.

"I'll provide you with complete clarity," Tomlin said. "He's not going to play today. he fought his tail off all week. But that's a prudent play to make for us as a collective. So he won't be playing this week."

The NFL has fined Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Jalen Ramsey $14,491 for punching Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase, who spit on him a moment before during last Sunday’s game.

Despite his retaliating blow being socially warranted, the NFL had to punish Jalen Ramsey accordingly.

Ahead of the Pittsburgh Steelers game against the Chicago Bears, defensive tackle Cam Heyward and cornerback Darius Slay have had their injury status removed for the game.

Heyward was suffered an ankle injury during Friday's practice and was seen waring walking boot afterwards. He is now good to go.

Slay suffered a concussion against the Los Angeles Charger. He was a full participant in practice on Wednesday and Thursday, but limited on Friday. Slay has cleared the NFL concussion protocol.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have given running back Jaylen Warren the green light to return from an ankle he suffered against the Cincinnati Bengals .

Warren was limited in practice on Wednesday this week, but turned in back-to-back full practice sessions on Thursday and Friday.

Kenneth Gainwell took over for Warren when he was out, and even though Warren has been cleared to play, Gainwell could see elevated participation this Sunday due to his two-touchdown game against the Bengals.
