🕰️ THROWBACK THURSDAY | DID YOU KNOW?

Last week, we shared where our story began. This week, we're continuing the journey!

In 1957, Carron Baptist Church moved from its original home on Carron Street to 7119 Frankstown Avenue in the Homewood community. The congregation moved into the former home of First Reformed Presbyterian Church, the building that remains our church home today.

But the move brought more than a new location, it also brought a change to our name. With the move to Frankstown Avenue, Carron Baptist Church became Carrone Baptist Church, beginning a new chapter of ministry in the Homewood community.

Nearly 70 years later, we are still worshiping, serving, and carrying forward the legacy of those who made the journey before us. Different location. A new name. The same legacy of faith continues.

What a blessing it was to worship together! 🙌🏾

Today, Carrone joined with Sixth Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church for a beautiful Baptism & Communion Service.

We celebrated new beginnings as lives publicly declared their faith through baptism, gathered around the Lord’s Table in remembrance of Christ, and witnessed the beauty of two churches coming together as one body in Christ.

In a time when so much seeks to divide us, today was a powerful reminder of what it means to be one faith, one Lord, and one family. Different churches, different congregations, but the same God, the same Gospel, and the same mission.

We thank God for Sixth Mount Zion and for the fellowship shared today. “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” — Psalm 133:1

We’re excited and ready for CBC Community Day! 🙌🏾

tag a friend, bring a friend, and join us tomorrow on the lawn of Carrone Baptist Church for an afternoon of food, family fun, music, faith, fellowship, and community! Whether you’re a member of Carrone, a neighbor, a friend, or simply looking for somewhere to bring the family, you’re invited!

And don’t rush home when the sun starts going down! 🎬🍿 We’ll close out the evening with a movie on the lawn beginning around dusk. Bring your blanket or lawn chair, find a spot on the grass, and enjoy the movie with us!

🕰️ THROWBACK THURSDAY | DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know that In 1885, the original "Carron Street Baptist Church" was constructed on Carron Street. And while the congregation would eventually move, the original edifice still stands today!

You may recognize it now as the home of Bastone Auto Service.

The building may look different.
The name on the outside may have changed.
But it remains a piece of the history that helped shape who we are today.

From Carron St. Baptist Church to the Carrone Baptist Church we know today, we are grateful for the generations who came before us and the legacy of faith that continues.

Happy Birthday to our First Lady, Monica Murphy! 🎉

Today, the Carrone Baptist Church family pauses to celebrate and thank God for the life of our beloved First Lady! 💛

First Lady Monica, we are grateful for your loving spirit, your faithful support, and the many ways you continue to be a blessing to our church family and community. Your presence, encouragement, and service do not go unnoticed.

On your special day, we pray that God continues to bless you, strengthen you, and grant you many more years filled with joy, peace, love, and favor.

🙌🏾

Welcome Home. 🏠❤️

It’s more than something we say during the invitation to discipleship, it’s the beginning of a journey.

In this throwback, we witnessed someone respond to the invitation and become part of the Carrone family. From belonging to becoming, that same individual would eventually answer an even greater call to ministry and continue the work of the Kingdom.

That’s why the doors of the church remain open. Because every invitation is an opportunity to belong. Every “yes” is the beginning of a journey. And everyone who walks through the doors carries gifts that God can use for Kingdom work.

The invitation remains the same:

Welcome Home. There’s a place for you here. ❤️

Today, we’re throwing it back to moments when ministry moved beyond the walls and into the community! 🙌🏾

These pictures may be from years gone by, but the mission hasn’t changed. As Psalm 107:9 reminds us, “For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.”

There are still longing souls in our community. There are still people who need prayer, encouragement, fellowship, and most importantly, the hope found in Jesus Christ.

As we prepare for our Community Fun Day on August 29, we’re not starting something new, we’re continuing the work. We’re going outside the walls, loving our community, and creating opportunities to connect people with Christ.

Same mission. Another generation. Still reaching beyond the walls.

Some of the most meaningful ministry happens in moments that seem simple.

A breakfast shared.
A Bible story told.
Questions answered.
Prayers whispered.
Seeds planted.

As we look back on moments shared from our Pancakes & Jesus Children’s Ministry, we’re reminded that investing in the next generation isn’t just a ministry, it’s a calling.

“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” — Proverbs 22:6

Every lesson taught, every hug given, every prayer prayed, and every act of love is an opportunity to point a child toward Christ. We may not always see the fruit right away, but God is faithful to grow the seeds sown in faith..

💙 The Church of today has a responsibility to disciple the Church of tomorrow.
