We are craftsmen who embrace the digital age while keeping the physical media alive. We believe that you don’t necessarily have to live in New York or Los Angeles to make art happen, and that, often, your creative family is in your own backyard. Founded in 1999, Misra Records has
been known for high-caliber releases for over 15 years. Michael Bracy, co-founder of the Future of Music Coalition, launched Misra alongside his younger brother Timothy Bracy (member of The Mendoza Line and The Paranoid Style) and Washington, DC-based attorney Paige Conner Totaro. Phil Waldorf, current manager of Dead Oceans, sat at Misra’s helm from its founding until 2007. Cory Brown, owner of Absolutely Kosher Records, oversaw operations from 2007-2010. Leo DeLuca, of the Misra band Southeast Engine, managed the label from 2010-2015. Jeff Betten, former manager of Wild Kindness Records, now runs Misra Records from Pittsburgh, PA. Misra's warehouse and administrative offices remain in Cheyenne, WY, where they have been since 2013.
