More than 13,000 people had a night out at the Civic Arena today in 1971 for the first authorized American performance of Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical "Jesus Christ Superstar," which played out more like a concert than a Broadway show.

Coldplay have become one of the biggest bands in the world over the last quarter century. That comes as no surprise, though. It was apparent even on their debut album which was packed with hits, lauded with praise from critics and fans, and sold over 13 million copies.

"Parachutes" - the debut album from Coldplay - was released 25 years ago today, so let's share our favorite Coldplay songs.

The Grateful Dead played their final show with Jerry Garcia 30 years ago today. It wasn't a planned exit; it just happened to be the last time the band would play together as Jerry would pass away just a month later. Nobody knew what the future would look like back then, but thankfully, the music still hasn't stopped.

Jazz singer and bandleader Billy Eckstine was born today in 1914 right here in Pittsburgh. He left home at 19 to pursue a career in music and ended up starting the Billy Eckstine Orchestra - the first big band to play be-bop - before becoming a solo performer in the mid-40s. Eckstine is best-known for his rendition of the song "I Apologize."

Today, let's honor Billy Eckstine with some good apology songs.
