I Am Third Life

I Am Third Life Shadow Catholic Movement: God 1st. Others 2nd. Me — in the shadows — 3rd. ✝️❤️⚔️🙏

Stephen, a wise preacher known for eloquent sermons, was stoned in Jerusalem for blasphemy, the first Christian martyr after Christ.

His resolute faith inspired Saul of Tarsus's conversion into Saint Paul.

As stones were raised against him, Stephen cried out, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them!”

Full of grace and fire, Stephen does not argue for his life. He does not soften the truth to survive. He proclaims Christ, sees heaven opened, and forgives while being killed.

Witness first. Safety third.
The first Christian martyr's death is not marked by rage, but mercy.

Stephen shows us that an I Am Third life may cost everything, and that love, even at the end, still chooses others over self.

Merry Christmas. ❤️✝️🙏🏻🌟

"My soul magnifies the Lord." Luke 1:46

Mary sang while her world flipped.

Praise first. Panic second. Self third.

Your song is someone’s lifeline.

He lifted up his hands and blessed them. While he was blessing them, he left them…Luke 24:50-51

His final earthly act wasn’t a warning—it was a blessing.

Their future and the Church's future first. His presence third.

He ascended mid-prayer so they’d never stop receiving it.

As the deer pants for the water…
(Psalm 42)

Exiled, depressed, taunted—David’s soul thirsts for God, not escape.

Presence first. Relief third.

Sometimes worship is the only antidepressant that works.

I am gentle and humble in heart.
Matthew 11:29
The King of kings learned obedience through suffering.
Submission first. Service to others second. Strength third.
Gentle hearts rule forever. Pride destroys.

"Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word." (Luke 1:38)

Teenage Mary, unmarried, facing shame and possible death by stoning, answers the angel with nine words that changed eternity.

God’s will first. Reputation third.

The greatest surrender in history came from the youngest voice.

“Have mercy on me, a sinner.” → echoed in Psalm 51

David, after Bathsheba & Uriah, doesn’t defend, minimize, or spin. He falls face down.

Repentance first. Reputation third.

The fastest way back to the throne room is the floor.

😭 🙏🏻

“Here am I. Send me.”

Isaiah saw the throne, seraphim screaming “Holy!” and volunteered for a mission that’d wreck his reputation.

No resume. No safety net.

Just God first, others second, self third.

Your “send me” is waiting in a DM, a hospital room, a lonely neighbor...

Answer it.

“Freely you have received; freely give.” Matt 10:8

Jesus sent his Twelve with no money and one command: give it away!

Generosity first. Profit third.

Your ministry on earth isn’t a business...it’s a giveaway!

Jesus instructed his disciples to "Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons," and said, "You received without paying; give without pay".

It's a command He gave to his Twelve to share the gifts of healing and deliverance freely, without seeking financial gain.

The same goes for all of us! Look at how much we've all received freely!

All of us Christians, in our own earthly Mission, should freely give our God-given gifts and service to those less fortunate.

“Though He slay me, yet will I hope.” 🙏🏻

Job lost his kids, health, wealth, and still refused to curse God.

He buried pride in the ashes and chose worship over why.

Your storm doesn’t get the final word.

Hope does.

When I was in 7th grade at a Catholic school in Pittsburgh, a teacher once lined up a few of us and said we would never amount to much. It hurt, and it stayed with me. That same year, we spent a whole year in after-school detention. We sat in the library each day, picked a book, and wrote a report. I stuck to sports books, and one day, I grabbed the Gale Sayers' autobiography, I Am Third. I already loved the 1971 movie Brian’s Song, which was based on a chapter in his book, but I had no idea the deeper message behind his life.

Sayers followed a simple credo:
• God is first.
• Others are second.
• I am third.

Those words hit me at the exact time I needed direction. They became my guide as I grew up, built a career, married, and spent decades helping brands and people tell their stories. I carried that motto through years in the corporate world, working for Fortune 50 brands and then building my award-winning marketing agency, through fast and full seasons of life.

Then, in 2022, a routine surgery went wrong and partially paralyzed my esophagus and I’ve been battling chronic nausea and vomiting ever since. I have had every test and treatment. Nothing has helped. I fight a daily battle that has changed my work, my health, and my life.
Yet the hardship made the I Am Third message stronger. Pain strips life down to what matters. Faith. Family. Friends. Purpose. Serving others. Redemptive suffering has become a teacher, reminding me that pain offered to God and others can shape a deeper love and have meaning.

In the middle of all of this, I felt called to use the energy I still have to help others live with more heart and more faith. That is why I created . This page is not about perfection. It is about gratitude, resilience, perspective, and choosing to live with intention even when life hurts.

Imagine all people living the words of Jesus: love God fully first and love your neighbor as yourself. Imagine a world where we put God first, others second, and ourselves third. There would be far less homelessness, hunger, poverty, unhappiness, war, and more!

God first.
Others second.
I am third.

If my story speaks to you, I am grateful you are here.
