Business Owner Spotlight: Jocelyn Guelce Messina, owner of THECOLLAB
I’m Jocelyn Guelce Messina, and I’m a creative entrepreneur with a deep passion for connecting people and ideas. Born and raised in Berkshire County, I’ve always been inspired by the blend of natural beauty and artistic culture here. My career started in digital marketing culminating with Guelce Collaborative Marketing (GCM), a business I founded to help local entrepreneurs amplify their voices. Building on that foundation, I wanted to create a physical space where creativity and collaboration could truly thrive—THECOLLAB was born from that vision in 2024.
THECOLLAB began as a bold idea to bring artists and entrepreneurs together under one roof. From the start, we envisioned it as more than just a workspace. By partnering with local businesses and creatives, we’ve transformed 163 North Street into a hub where art, music, and innovation come alive. It’s incredible to see how much we’ve grown in such a short time, and I credit the energy of our community for making it all possible.
At THECOLLAB, we offer a unique combination of services: an art gallery that showcases local talent, an accessible and centrally located recording studio for musicians and podcasters, and a welcoming collaborative workspace designed to inspire. What makes us truly special is the sense of belonging we foster. We’re not just a place to work; we’re a place where creativity is celebrated and connections are made.
Downtown Pittsfield is alive with creativity and resilience. I love the blend of old and new—historic roots leaving behind a foundation for fresh, innovative businesses. There’s a real sense of community here, and the people are so supportive of local ventures. It’s exciting to be part of a neighborhood that values culture and creativity as much as I do.
