😅 Just trying to help here, but...

Many people don't like to "see" the mic in their video podcast.

‼ So they move it 2-4 feet away from their mouth. Big Mistake! 💔

🎙Broadcast / podcast mics were designed to be in close proximity to your mouth, so when you move it a few feet away, it's the same as using the built-in mic on your laptop.

🎙In order to get the right level, you need to gain up, which means now you are picking up the whole room instead of just your voice.

🎙You bought a nice mic but, you're really not using it. If you don't want the mic in the shot, use a shotgun microphone and point it at your mouth hole.

🎧 Also, if you're doind a remote podcast via zoom or another remote platform USE HEADPHONES. Then you can turn off the echo cancellation, which is RUINING your sound.

👀 We see this EVERY SINGLE DAY - and we always try to help people achieve the best sound possible with their gear. Sometimes they listen, sometimes they don't.

At least we tried 🙂 😇

Join us in wishing the best of luck and good fortune to our good friend and teammate Joe Vertoske. Joe has taken a wonderful job with NYS and will be working in his actual profession, Law. Joe brought a unique perspective to our team and transformed ROC Vox in ways I would have never foreseen. He has a lawyer's approach and a designer's eye, and he will be sorely missed. ROC Vox wishes Joe and his young family the best of success on his new venture. Joe will always have a place waiting for him here at ROC Vox, but we're excited to see how he can make a difference in Albany.
