My office was informed by the PA Department of Labor and Industry today that the Unemployment Compensation (UC) mainframe computer is currently experiencing technical difficulties. We’re told that claimants can still file initial claims, but biweekly claims cannot be accepted at this time.

The issue is being addressed and we will be notified when it is resolved. Claimants will not lose eligibility for any weeks as a result of their inability to file.

Claimants trying to file biweekly claims are getting a message that says, “You have a claim established, but it is currently inactive.” Claimants should ignore the message to call the UC Service Center to provide additional information. This issue is being handled internally, and claims will be automatically released from inactive status. Claimants should continue to attempt to file their biweekly claims daily until the claim is processed.

Wyoming Borough

I received a call from the Chief of the West Pittston Police Department (Chief Michael Turner) and he asked me if I read his post on Facebook. I was not able to see it and The Chief told me about it. I will post his Facebook message so everyone could read it. This post is what the Wyoming Borough Police will also offer it’s citizens. Just reach out and contact Roseanne Colarusso at the Borough office or call the police department and leave a message for me, Chief Christopher R. Mercavitch. Both Roseanne and myself can be reached at 570.693.2650, I would like to thank Chief Michael turner for calling me. The Wyoming Borough Police Department will be joining in on this marvelous idea.

Chief Christopher R. Mercavitch

The following is the post from the West Pittston Police Department.

To the residents of West Pittston,

Social Distancing is an unfamiliar concept for many of us. Especially hard, is explaining to our children why we must engage in social distancing. Our children, when they would be playing with friends and celebrating birthdays with them, are now practicing social distancing. This change may be difficult for them, but we believe we have an idea that will make their day a little brighter.

We would like to do something special for the children of West Pittston. If your child has a birthday approaching, please send us a message. We would be more than happy to drive by and deliver a bright and loud birthday message to your child so that they get the recognition they deserve on their big day! Just reach out to us on Facebook or call the Chief of Police at 570-655-7780 ext. 306, and we will coordinate a time and a date to do a big display for your son or daughter’s special day.

Remember, The West Pittston Police are no strangers to making a big birthday display!. I Thank Chief Turner for calling me.

In response to the Citizen’s Voice article published today:

We have been in constant contact with the Kingston Police Department since the beginning of the pandemic. They have given us advice and suggestions during the past month we have been reopened. We are grateful for their continuous support over the past 57 years of business.
The Kingston Dairy Queen and their employees have been doing everything in their power to maintain a clean, healthy, and friendly environment during the Covid-19 Pandemic. Our cleaning protocols were continued and strengthened, our closing hours were moved to 8pm, and most recently the closing of our front TAKE OUT window.
We knew as soon as a government mandated stay at home order was declared, we would be shutting our store down until it would be lifted. We did not get “shut down” by the Kingston Police. They arrived at our store to tell us about the mandated order, as they did with several businesses in the area. We spoke with them just yesterday about how we were going to close the day it was announced.
We thank our fans for the continuous support and business during the past month during the pandemic. We stayed open for as long as the governor allowed because our fans are very important to us. We know you look forward to our opening every year, and we are lucky that we get to do it twice this year.
Stay safe and Stay Home!
The Kingston Dairy Queen Staff.

Is anybody else out there still hearing Elton Johnny Lucas’ version of “All By Myself” replaying through their head today? ARGHHHHH 😤 !!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I just read essential businesses include pharmacies, grocery stores and gas stations.
Rush, you are a jerk!!!! 🤮
I can remember a few decades ago when a local bar would showcase a mildly impared mental patient they named FREAKY FREDDIE. They would puit him on stage-why?- so everyone could laugh at him. Do Webster and Nancy do not with the sing-off-key act. They are really pretty sick.
I recently realized I haven’t heard Fast Freddie on The entercom stations. Has he left or on another shift. I am newly retired and miss hearing his voice

Hi everyone! We are starting a really awesome fundraiser at 🐾Griffin Pond🐾. Long post ahead but you’ll want to help us- trust me! Lol! Here’s how it works- 1. Start cleaning out closets collecting gently worn shoes. 👞🥾👟👢 They can be men, women, kids, sandals, boots, any type. 2. We will notify you of drop off points SOON but If you’re anxious to get rid of them before we formally start you can drop them off at the shelter whenever you would like. 🏢 3. Funds2orgs pays to ship 🛩 them to Florida. After they have them all collected they will give the shelter a check 💸💸 for all of the shoes. It’s calculated based on the weight of all of the shoes, not each shoe. So think heavy shoes. 💪🏼🥾😂 4. This is the amazing part. This company then brings the shoes to third world countries. They give them to micro entrepreneurs. These people sell them in their shoe stores so they can help get themselves and their family out of poverty! It’s really a win/win. 👏🏻👏🏻 Our fur babies 🐶🐱 get money for general care as well as the much needed veterinary care and the animals are helping their human friends that are in need of help as well! If you could start saving gently worn shoes and bring them to the shelter or wait for us to post other drop off points (coming soon) we would really appreciate it. 🙏🏻💜💙 If you’d like to volunteer with this project please contact me because it’s a big undertaking but will be a great fundraiser. Also, sharing this post would be incredibly helpful! 💜💙 Thanks from the bottom of our paws! The fur babies of Griffin Pond 🐾
OMG! Factoid nasal Dave, just frickin shoot me. LOL 🤣 Where does this guy get his information? If you leave your parents basement, there's a job out there, waiting just for you. Geez...😖
