We are proud to have nearly 70 local shows on the airwaves. This means spots of new locally made programs are limited! We still welcome anyone to apply and pitch us a show. Landing a show still requires it to be a fit with our programming needs and values, and, now, if we can find a slot that works for you and the station.

All new shows are vetted by our Programming Committee. Going into the fall and 2026, we are prioritizing shows that can help us build up our local news coverage, tell the stories of our community, provide listener interaction with call-in shows, and/or that captures the lives and experiences of our diverse community members. We are still accepting locally curated music shows, but they need to expand upon the music shows you currently already hear on the air. Please listen to what the station already sounds like and consider this as you apply! What could you add to the mix?

Our fall new show application window is open now until the end of October. We are prioritizing shows that can help us build up our local news coverage, tell the stories of our community, provide listener interaction with call-in shows, and/or that captures the lives and experiences of our diverse co

We are delighted to tell you that our first Very Vermonty Auction was a vast success!

A big thank you to the 67 businesses, individuals, and organizations who donated goods, services, and experiences. We had 88 folks in on the fun of bidding and estimate we will raise about $4,300 once folks settle up on their winning items.

If you won, you will have gotten an automated message to confirm payment on your item. We'll be following up with an email on how to get your item(s) after that.

Thank you all very much!

Thanks to the The Times Argus for covering the impact of the defunding of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) on community radio stations. While none of us had a grant with them, they do administer the EAS national alert system and negotiate cheaper rates for music licensing for non-commercial stations. Both of these areas will impact community radio in Vermont in the coming months, we just don't know how yet. Read the article linked below.

At CVCR, we were in the running for a one-time CPB & FEMA grant to replace our entire studio and broadcast gear, funded from the remaining Congressionally approved covid/ARPA funding nationally. CPB was going to administer the grant and with them closing, the grant has now been canceled. This is a huge loss in potential to upfit the station's infrastructure for the future. We're lucky that the state legislative funding came through to replace at least our WGDR antenna.

Vermont’s community radio stations say they are concerned about potential impacts of the Rescissions Act of 2025, signed into law in late July.
