All the tracks are finished and will be sent for mastering next week. Release should be late January or early February.

Finished a couple of projects last weekend. Strymon Iridium based pedalboard with control over the presets and reverb settings via midi. Everything else is just stomp-and-go on a Temple Audio Duo 17 board. LOVE the Iridium as it has my three favorite amp tones and nothing I don’t need (Fender Deluxe, Vox AC-30, and a Marshall Plexi).

Spent a wonderful weekend celebrating my dear friend and favorite artist, Larry Mitchell, with new and current friends from…pretty much everywhere. ALL “the notes” were played and it reminds me that collaborating with other creative people is among my favorite things in life.

My debut album, August Winter, is in the final phases of production. Due to a pending change in employer and relocation, I don’t believe I will be able to afford a physical release with this record or to release the remaining tracks on all the usual platforms (iTunes, Spotify, etc…). It is NOT about making money, but streaming services pay pretty much nothing and producing an entire record is expensive. Copyrights alone are over $150 per song.

That being said, I have a few ideas and would appreciate your input:

My plan is to release August Winter in its completed form on Bandcamp.com and my website, sjfamilomusic.com for around $7.00 U.S. I’ll have a PDF includeId with liner notes and some photos, and maybe a bonus track or two.

I have already started writing for the next record, tentatively themed “Lost Light.” I am very excited about the content and overall vibe for my sophomore effort and there could be some cool collaborations involved. When Lost Light comes out, I will also re-release August Winter as a dual, full platform release, and a physical product (most likely SD card with a jacket and hopefully limited vinyl pressing).

I’m curious what you think; especially everyone who has listened, purchased the first four singles, and supported me so far.

It’s a setup Saturday. Beautiful weather so guitar maintenance will be done on the deck. Trying something new for the 25.5 scale guitars (D'Addario and Co. NY XLs).

Finally getting around to laying down vocals for the opening track, “Anonymous.” I don't play keyboards well at all, but did the intro for this one myself. More of a rocker than previous songs so far (rippin solo on this one), very much a commentary on our current state of world affairs:
