On Thursday June 18th, Plaistow Public Library hosted their annual Touch-A-Truck event! While passing storms briefly impacted the outdoor event, several indoor activities, as well as a gaming trailer, continued while waiting for the storm to pass.

Plaistow Old Home Day - Cute Baby Contest

(NOTE: Today's Cute Baby Contest was delayed by the arrest and sentencing of Inmate Deroche and Knutsen. The Honorable Chief Selectman Justice Judge Coye presided over the case, which resulted in both individuals being sentenced to serve hard time in the Plaistow Town Hall Basement Cell Block. Their respective sentences concluded when they they were able to produce bail funds to support the Plaistow, NH Lions Club / Granite State LEO's Club.)

Although the Cute Baby Contest eventually went on as planned, Inmates Deroche and Knutsen attempted to disrupt the event with their various jailhouse antics and shenanigans, which were in full display via video display. At the conclusion of the event, Judge Coye resumed court session, in order to release both Inmates Deroche and Knutsen, as they produced the mandated bail!

Special thanks to Jay Deroche and Chief Chris Knutsen for participating in this event, as well as Bill Coye. Additional shout-out to all who provided the required bail funds!

Plaistow Old Home Day 2026 kicked-off with Luke Swanney and the Star Spangled Banner, followed by the Plaistow Lions Club 45th Annual 5K. Plaistow YMCA's Wendy Takesian hosted a warm-up for routine for runners at the starting line!
