For my whole life, Dolly has been there.

My folks raised me on good old country music.

I played a lot of country during my WIRY years and I always put her on my show.

Dolly Parton was woven through the soundtrack of my life.

An incredible human being. Perhaps one of the truest souls ever Earthside.

Actually left my house today and attended The City of Plattsburgh Parks Come Alive for the first time this year.

The event just gets better and better. I'll link next month's event in the comments.

Snack report:

These are like eating a cicada molt.

I hate food waste so they will go in salads as a crunchy topper.

It's an eat off the cutting board night.

I was able to go to a great cafe in Medford, MA (Tamper Cafe) and had their version of avocado toast, only theirs had a sundried tomato pesto that was out of this world.

I was inspired by their toast and ended up making a version of a sundried tomato jam with shallots.

I was given the avocado by a friend, so I thought it was the perfect time to experiment!

I'm also currently obsessed with pumpernickel bread and smoked Montreal steak seasoning.

Most everything deserves a second chance.*

Yesterday, I was given flowers from a friend's garden and this morning I noticed one of the stems was broken too high up to really get water. So I popped her into one of my drinking glasses. Such a satisfying fit.

Now she floats in the sunshine...a needed spa day for a damaged zinnia. (Girl, same.)

This is a message to me and to you: if there's something that keeps coming back up, that you never got a chance to finish, maybe give it a second (or third) chance.

Maybe this is our sign.

(*Most everything does not mean absolutely everything deserves a second chance. Just safe things. Sometimes people and situations are not safe so you don't have to give any more chances to things that are harmful to you.)

Today is one of my favorite days of the year: Lion's Gate Portal.

If you scroll to the third photo, it will explain what that is and the significance of this card.

I decided to give it a good solar charge for luck today.

I'm a totally different person than I was when I did this photo originally in 2024.

I'd like to hope for the better.

ALDI USA snack report:

I've been having trouble getting food in my belly these days due to a tummy ache.

I saw these yesterday and couldn't stop thinking about them so I picked them up today.

These are helping me get a little something different in my stomach and not give me an upset stomach.

I think these would be nice as ice cubes in a seltzer, so I'll try that later.

Here we are, smack dab in the middle of National Clown week, (August 1st - 7th) and I have done nothing to celebrate!

It's been a while since I've slapped on my clown personas. Maybe this Halloween is the year I bring one of them back or maybe make a new one.

These photos are 2009-2013, which represent my most active clown years.
