30 years ago today, Mr. Bungle's "Disco Volante" was released.

I wasn't able to get the album right away, but I was able to buy it on CD a little later in October using BMG.

I remember shortly after getting the album, sitting on the bed of my forever crush, in his basement bedroom, sharing this album with him, while his cardboard cutout of Jason Voorhees lurked in the corner, a terrifying chaperone.

A very nice (and chaste!) memory from my youth.

I recently found this book of BMG stamps with some missing and thought it might be fun to share for nostalgia's sake.

Do you still probably owe money to BMG or Columbia House? I'm pretty sure I paid mine off.

(The LP version was purchased in Montreal at Disques Beatnick in 2014, I think.)

Still resting up and I hope to post by tomorrow night.

Here's the start of the creamy white bean, kale, and soup I made last night to help me feel better.

Hey gang! I'm slightly under the weather this week (ear infection) and I simply haven't felt well enough to update the website with October Project photos.

I'm resting tonight but should be back in action tomorrow with some updates.

According to The Old Farmer's Almanac, the Full Harvest Moon occurs tonight, reaching its peak illumination at 11:48 PM.

We haven't had an October Harvest moon since 2020, so this is special.

An October Harvest moon is my second favorite full moon. That spot is reserved for the Pink Moon in my birth month of April.

Speaking of April, this full moon is in Aries, so watch your temper. (Take it from an Aries. Haha.)

Howl with me?

(I did this earlier this afternoon because I didn't want to wake the neighbors by doing it close to midnight tonight. I think two folks were watching me tape this
and I got a little shy.)

In 2005, I started a simple photo project, "The October Project" where I took a photo every day for the month of October.

What began as a simple photo project grew to nearly 20 years of photos.

After 15 years, I decided to step away from the project.

This year, to celebrate 20 years since its creation, I am going to revisit my archives and every day in the month of October, I'll be bringing you a daily highlight over on my website.

The first installment is here:

Do you miss when I used to take a photo every day in October for like 15 years? If so, join me for the month of October as I go through my archives and pick a photo from each year's project and give the backstory. This is a way to keep me active on the blog, while also sharing one of my most importa...

I want to say thank you to everyone for the really awesome feedback on the premiere of "Tales from the Zeeborhood."

I think I need to admit that I need feedback to help me build what comes next for Electric Zee, when I'm kinda feeling like I'm in the in-between, before something really cool happens.

Consider this: What kind of content are you enjoying most in the variety of offerings I've been sharing. If there's more folks liking certain things, I'd like to concentrate most of my energy on those aspects, to get the most bang out of my energy buck. (Chronic pain babes, unite!)

Do you like the long form shows, nostalgic stuff like this? Playlists?

Electric Zee online radio is still very far away from happening, but we might as well have fun in the meantime.

I miss you all and I think you might miss me too.

I'm finally feeling better, so like Freddy said, "Let me entertain you!"

(Photo for attention. Pretty sure this was 1986, the year we got MTV at our house in AuSable Forks, NY. I was 9 going on 10. MTV changed my life. It really was the best. Also, I've always been a big fan of the 5 subject notebook.)

After a year and a half, I can finally say that the first episode of "Tales from the Zeeborhood" is finally live on my website!

I extend all my gratitude and respect for Teddy Chan of China Cafe for not only recording this with me in the summer of 2024, but for being so patient with me in the time it took to bring this episode finally to life.

It's a really great interview/conversation and I am very proud.

I hope you enjoy!

PS: I'm recording the second episode tonight (Friday!)

Hey friends! Long time no update! Shortly after unveiling the new website, I had a catastrophic computer failure and my laptop died. After a month, I got word that the computer was not able to be repaired, but I should be able to hopefully recover my data. I bought a new machine and I was cautiously...

Trying something new for another layer of this in-between time of Electric Zee.

I figured the Autumn Equinox was a good place to start.

I typically make seasonal (and other) Spotify playlists for myself and friends. Why not add that to the things I can create with Electric Zee?

Here's a playlist of songs that I've ever spent a lot of time with during the autumns of my life or ones that remind me of this, my favorite season.

Feel free to give Electric Zee a follow on Spotify!
