Well this was a nightmare, er sensory nightmare.

Grabbed some headphones out of my hi fi cabinet yesterday without thinking.

Completely rocking out because FNM's "Angel Dust" turned 34 this month and my record sounds really good with my trusty Sony MDR 7506 headphones, one of two pairs I have owned over the last 10 plus years. Absolutely perfect headphones.

Somewhere around side 2 of the album, I noticed a black fleck on my skin. I then saw another. 🫠

If you're in the No Co, you'll know just how hot it was yesterday. This is important.

I was extremely sticky from the humidity. I am also a Gen X, post menopausal 49 year old lady with a head of thick curly hair. 🥵

Imagine my horror when I opened my camera to check out what might be on my skin, because I had spent some time outside earlier and saw this.

Then I remembered why those headphones were in the cabinet. Because they are very old with disintegrating cups and it's been my intention to look into replacement cups but just ended up getting a new pair. Those cups are also getting rough but are still usable.

It took a while to scrub off all those little bits of vinyl off my neck and in my hair. I think I got it all. If you see one on me, let me know 🙃

I guess this is a long way of saying Sony Electronics, do you want to sponsor a broke, semi-retired radio jock who is trying to start an online radio station, by sending me some replacement cups? Circle yes or no. I'm loyal, and these are my favorite headphones. 🎧

Maybe if this gets enough attention, Sony will see it and help me out. (Meaning, please share and interact.)

Me, sometime in 1992.*

I'm working on my setlist for our upcoming 90s Fashion Gala Electric Zee fundraiser, mostly brainstorming and thinking about a good mix that will make folks groove. It's gonna be the ultimate dance party.

A note: just because it's a 90s fashion gala, doesn't mean the tunes will be just 90s.

What you will experience from our respective sets will be the sounds of the future Electric Zee. A blend of music that's more a vibe than a format.

Why 90s fashion? Because let's face it, if you're Gen X, the 90s were the last time we really felt free. Let's capture some of that nostalgia, dress like it's the last high school dance of the year, and shake our butts!

If you're new here, what is Electric Zee?

A station that plays a little bit of everything and makes it all work. A station that provides the jams and community information. A station that reminds you of why you used to listen to the radio.

Our event on June 26th at Peabody's is a sneak peak at what we are working so hard on.

A way to hear it live before it goes live.

Hear and experience what you are supporting when you make a financial contribution to the start up of The Zee becoming a real and actual online radio station.

Three years ago, June 30th was my last radio broadcast and my first step away from a 25 (plus) year radio career, in order to save my health and sanity.

It's been a wild three years of lessons and struggles, but ultimately, I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Like Freddie said, "I've had my share of sand kicked in my face, but I've come through."

I'm ready now.

This whole idea of an online radio station for us, by us, didn't have the right structural support until now, and I'm grateful for my collaboration with Survival Nick for this new era of Electric Zee.

June 30th, 2023 was my first step away from radio. June 26th, 2026 is my first step back.

It would mean the world to me to have y'all take those steps with me, starting with our event at Peabody's Friday the 26th.

For many years in our region, Amanda Dagley has been our favorite radio host. She gave us all something that has been greatly missed since she went off air.
But FEAR NOT!

According to the Old Farmer's Almanac, May’s Blue Moon reached peak illumination, today, Sunday May 31st, at 4:55 AM, EST.
I love blue moons! They feel so very magical! ✨ However, I don't feel magical. I've been sick for over two weeks, but I'm on antibiotics now and I'm starting to feel better.

I also ran out of my nice shampoo and conditioner 😞

Thank you Vinyl Destination in Champlain for putting this aside for me and letting me pick it up today.

I have never seen the soundtrack on record!

I bought it on CD from the Record Town clearance bin as a teenager.

The movie is problematic as I age, but the soundtrack is simply amazing and gave me my love for Wendy Carlos.

I'm cranking this fuzzy warble, my droogs.
