Met two of Birmingham’s ex-mayors yesterday during the morning part of the 63rd Foot Soldiers Anniversary. One being Birmingham’s first black mayor ✊🏾. The other was one my mother has fond memories of wearing overalls and having a very entertaining council. She says that even though, at the time, she was living in Bessemer, tuning into Birmingham city council meetings was something to something to look forward to bordering on tradition.
