Thank you for lifting my nephew, Joel, in your prayers!
Joel is currently undergoing testing at the hospital to determine the cause of his condition. Joel's severe autism presents additional challenges during medical procedures such as IV insertions, blood draws, and when he had a nasogastric tube inserted. The first time he had an IV put in was extremely scary for him. Even with his communication being limited due to having autism, he let his Meemee and mom know that he was scared. It was terribly heartbreaking! Today when I arrived at the hospital, they were ready to draw blood and insert the nasogastric tube. I sat and prayed over my mom, sister, the nurses, and especially Joel, that God would just flood everyone with peace. I assumed the situation would be stressful and scary for Joel as before. But God.... He did something amazing! He helped Joel to understand that these sweet nurses are helping even though it hurts. He allowed them to do what needed to be done amazingly. Of course, it's irritating to have all these tubes and wires all over his body, but he is finally resting and getting some much needed sleep! Joel has a song by the Corner Room called "Psalm 139" playing on repeat! He is filling his mind with God's promises!
Please continue to pray for answers and peace for Joel, his parents (Brystin and Brian) and my mom who is staying at the hospital with Brystin. The power of prayer is real! God is so good and we see His hand working through this scary situation.
Thank you to Momma Mia- Life Itself for the time, energy, and emotional sacrifice that you make for us! Neither my sisters nor I would want any other woman by our side in hard times. You are a gift from God to us! ♡♡♡♡♡
