Pleasantville Youth Initiative

Pleasantville Youth Initiative youth need to know they matter, and they need something to do. Our goal is to meet those needs in the community. pvilleyi.org

We are a registered nonprofit 501c3 organization. Our mission is to show the youth in the Pleasantville community that they matter to us and to God, and to equip them with purpose. PUT SIMPLY: WE MAKE SURE YOUTH KNOW THEY MATTER AND WE GIVE THEM SOMETHING TO DO.

A GOOD REASON TO GIVE: One of the programs we will be able to offer once our building is complete is a teen advocate and mentoring program. This is so important, because despite the many proven benefits of mentoring (increased volunteering, community involvement, better grades, improved mental health, less drug and alcohol use, better career development) one out of three young people do not have a trusted adult to turn to outside of their family. You can donate today toward our building project to help us get these kinds of programs rolling in Pleasantville! Donate here toward a specific part of the project, or choose “most immediate project need”. https://pvilleyi.org/heres-what-we-need

We are OVER HALFWAY THERE, so LET'S GET IT DONE! Now is a GREAT time to find a way to contribute to our building project. On this donation page you can choose a particular part of the project to give toward, or you can choose to donate to the most immediate project need.

The outpouring of generosity we have received from hundreds of people has marched us through the first phase and half of the second phase of our building project. Now we are ready to continue each part of this project as the donations roll in. You can help us get the doors open as soon as possible by donating today!

A DANCE NIGHT JUST FOR MIDDLE SCHOOLERS!

After the football game (not before, friends!) join us for a Middle School ONLY dance night at the Memorial Hall! We’ll have a DJ and snacks, and fun giveaways! This is a FREE event. Join us for an enchanted night of dancing, just for 7th and 8th graders! Our intern Addie Koenig has been working hard to plan a Tangled themed evening, and we can’t wait to see you there! The fun will end at 11:30pm.

NOTE: This is the same night as the High School Homecoming dance. Please make sure you go to the Memorial Hall, not the school cafeteria. Only 7th and 8th graders will be allowed in this dance. Sorry 6th graders and high school friends! Parents, please help us keep that rule. We appreciate it!

Should I dress up? Some people love to dress up (like a party dress) for this dance, others prefer not to. Wear whatever makes you feel the most comfortable!

Do I need a Date? Nope! You sure don’t!
