We love to partner with new companies that have innovative products so when Degrees Of Freedom showed us their Kinetacube Ring Box, we were in!

The six faces of a cube are formed by the links of a mobius kaleidocycle mechanism. With each face mapped to an individual link, the entirety of the box transforms during the opening process, revealing its contents in one fluid motion. The star field etched into the box corelates to the special date and the unique phrases further to individualize the unique product.

The production budget was shoestring but we really wanted to deliver high level content that showed off the design and movement of the box. We built camera rigs that would allow us to keep the boxes in constant motion and we were very lucky to find a great track by Cody Francis that really captured the emotion.

I know we often pine for “the good old days” but modern tech is amazing. I can shoot gorgeous 8K video with rock steady face detect auto focus and incredibly smooth gimbal with a rig I can fit in a backpack.
