The grand opening will include a ceremony and opportunities to interact with deputies and staff who proudly serve the Ridge District.

The Polk County-wide burn ban remains in effect — personal-use fireworks prohibited.

Polk County Fire Rescue wants to remind everyone that the setting off of noncommercial fireworks is prohibited under the burn ban. Professional shows put on by municipalities will still be allowed under the ban.

🚨 Flood Alert System Test – December 30 🚨

The Osceola County Office of Emergency Management will conduct a test of the Flood Alert Notification System on December 30, 2025, at 10 a.m.

This test helps ensure the County can effectively notify residents about flood risks and supports the Community Rating System, which helps lower flood insurance rates. All residents, including those in Kissimmee and St. Cloud, may receive a test message stating, “This is a test,” followed by information about how alerts work during an emergency.

Not everyone may receive the message since the system uses available phone numbers, but in a real emergency, additional alert methods would be used. To stay informed year-round, text ALERTOsceola to 888777.

Osceola Library System will be CLOSED Thursday, January 1, for New Year's Day. 🎉

All branch locations, and TechCentral, will close at 6pm, Wednesday, December 31. The Library will reopen at 9am, Friday, January 2.
