Amanda's portrait by legendary photographer Tom Zimberoff was taken at a moment of intense worry for the future of KWMR and the West Marin community. But within hours of the vote to end federal funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which provides the station with a quarter of its annual revenue, KWMR was inundated with messages and calls from listeners, friends and supporters. All with new ideas to keep going, to keep the lights on, the signal strong. This is what West Marin is all about. Compassion, creativity, and determination to make do and stay true to who we are. KWMR is not the work of any one person. It's a decades long project of West Marin, the work of many hands coming together to create, inform, discuss, delight, get weird, get loud, get real, in all our strange, beautiful, messy humanity. We are your public radio, and we're here because of you.
