TONIGHT! It's an all-new Highway of Heartaches, Pledge Drive Edition. Join Smelley and Owen as we throw some real country music your way and raise some cash for our mother ship, KWMR - West Marin Community Radio.

And look, we're not saying the scene pictured here will happen if you don't pledge any money to the station. But we're not saying it won't either.

But you can always just listen in and have some fun.

It's April, which means it's pledge drive time! KWMR used to do two pledge drives a year, now it's one supercharged hot rod of a pledge drive per year.

Federal funds for public broadcasting were cut dramatically in 2025, which means that KWMR lost 25% of its budget this year. 25%! So any help to make up that gap is muy appreciated.

The station has set a $1500 goal for Highway of Heartaches. A tall order, but we think we're up to it. If you can spare a few bucks, and you enjoy Smelley and Owen's show (which you DO!), please donate at the link below so we get credit, and KWMR management gives us plaudits! We like plaudits.

It's TIME! If you ever saw a Red Meat show in the past, you'll remember the verbal jousting between bass player Jill Olson and frontman Smelley Kelley. Tonight, you'll have a chance to relive those glory days when Jill joins Smelley and Owen in the studio to spin her favorite records and engage us in the wittiest repartee. We're honing our skills now.

An audience member once approached Owen after a Red Meat show and asked, "Is that Jill and Smelley stuff scripted?" No, it ain't. And it won't be tonight either. Join us!
