Is it just me, or is everyone talking about Junk Journaling lately? ๐โจ
There is so much information out there on how to get startedโeven Martha Stewart is weighing in on the trend! Iโve been diving deep into all the tips and tricks, and Iโve realized itโs actually the perfect hobby if you want to be creative without the pressure of being "perfect."
What I love about it: โป๏ธ A Junk Journal is just a hand-crafted book made from repurposed materials. There are zero rules! Itโs all about giving new life to items that would normally end up in the bin.
Hereโs what Iโm gathering for my starter kit: ๐๏ธโก๏ธ๐จ
The Base: Old books, simple notebooks, or even just binder rings.
The "Junk": Iโm saving ticket stubs, maps, vintage photos, and newspaper clippings.
The Flair: Scraps of fabric, ribbon, washi tape, and even pressed flowers.
The Tools: Just scissors and a good glue stick!
My plan of attack: 1๏ธโฃ Iโm keeping a dedicated bin to catch "junk" as I go. 2๏ธโฃ Iโm not overthinking a themeโIโm just going to focus on "daily life" memories. 3๏ธโฃ Layering is key! I canโt wait to add little pockets to hide secret notes and treasures. ๐
Itโs therapeutic, eco-friendly, and a great way to finally use those sentimental scraps Iโve been hoarding. ๐
Iโm about to dive into my first few pages of this Valentine's Day Junk Journal... whoโs joining me?
โ๏ธName one thing you have sitting around your house right now that would look cool in a journal! ๐
Oh BTW, I just dropped a mini tutorial inside VIP CreatingWithLynda Group. It's a FR-EE group. Go see. It's in the features tab.
