If there’s anyone who wants to be a part of a zoom call for our LAST hurrah at appealing the FDEP permit approval, please let us know ASAP… we are on a tight deadline, with 9/30 being the date to submit.
We have one call with our attorney scheduled for later today- and if you’re able to pitch in to add your name/HoA to the list of those opposed to the project being approved, send an email to [email protected] -
Here’s the detailed breakdown/update:
Hi Neighbors & Friends,
We have been granted an initial extension to file our appeal with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) against the proposed 10-story building planned seaward of the Coastal Construction Control Line. This extension only goes until September 30, 2025—meaning we must act fast.
To move forward, we need both funding commitments and names listed on the appeal.
⏰ Urgent Timeline
Sept 26: Deadline for your commitment letter (name, address, email, phone). Checks can follow later, but we must have written confirmation by this date to include you on the appeal.
Sept 30: Final date to file the appeal with FDEP.
Financial Support Levels (if you are a neighbor on Briny):
Individual Residents:
Suggested $1,000 (covers ~2 hours of attorney time or 1/10th of a professional witness).
$500 (would cover about ~1 hour).
Single Property Owners: Up to $5,000.
HOAs/Condo Communities (Christopher House, Salato, Ocean Pearl, Ocean 6, etc.): $10,000–$15,000, based on community size/ability.
Goal: Secure a minimum of $50,000 in commitment from affected properties within 500-1000 feet of the development property.
👉🏼👉🏼Currently we are at a $25k commitment- so we need more involved- EVERYTHING helps!

🌊 Broader Support

Any remaining funds after the appeal will be donated to a local ocean/coastal conservation nonprofit.

This is our critical window. The more neighbors and HOAs we unite before Sept 30, the stronger our case will be. Please reply and share if you can contribute or help connect with others. 🫶🏼
