I think the older I get, the more personal I take Veteran’s Day. All the times of glory, loss, sacrifice, and being part of something far bigger than myself come rushing back every time I hear the national anthem, see ol’ glory waving, or spot some old guy walking through Publix with a Vietnam pin/hat. It gives me goosebumps just thinking about it.

I had an amazing boss once and I loved when he used to say “nothing dies in Florida”. He used to also say “something amazing will happen today” and he would be right on this too!

We went to the Jacksonville Fair yesterday downtown Jacksonville. It was really well organized and even though we were there for several hours - we didn’t get through all the rides and attractions! My favorite were the racing piggies. The smell of funnel cake always brings me back to the jersey shore! 😂

From St Johns it’s about 30 min to get into Jax Downtown and it’s fairly easy and not complicated.

Parking garage parking was $10.
$15 for me an adult to get in and $10 for my 11 year old. Unlimited rides ticket was 30. Funnel cake was $10. Bottle of water was $4.

It was a really good time. My phone died but we finished off the evening with the alligator 🐊 wrestling show. 😂
