A section of the Black River Coliseum roof may be getting repaired — but it is only one piece of a much larger maintenance challenge.

From aging chillers and deteriorating locker rooms to crumbling pool plaster, officials say the nearly 30-year-old Coliseum and Aquatic Center have major needs that will take time and funding to address.

City Council is expected to consider roof repair bids July 6. What other repairs are on the list, how much could they cost and what does it mean for two of Poplar Bluff’s most-used public facilities?
