Freezing Rain is quite possible beginning about noon Wednesday and lasting till 6 am Thursday. Accumulations of a tenth of an inch are possible in the orange area (from Whitewater through Glasgow). This amount of ice can cause power outages. Expect roads to become hazardous if nearly impossible to travel on. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect.

In Memoriam: Spike Bighorn

The Bureau of Indian Education honors the life and legacy of Spike Bighorn, who passed away on November 23, 2025. A dedicated public servant and member of the Fort Peck Assiniboine and Sioux Nation, Spike served as the BIE’s Office of Sovereignty in Indian Education Program Manager.

His leadership in the Johnson O’Malley Program reached over 322,000 Native students across all 50 states. Spike also served as a tribal chairman, educator, and the first Native American to officiate a state basketball tournament in Montana.

Spike’s wisdom, empathy, and commitment to Native education will be deeply missed.
