Drake’s legal team has finally tracked down a key witness accused of using bots to artificially boost streams for Kendrick Lamar’s hit “Not Like Us.”

After securing court approval to serve Kojo Menne Asamoah through alternative methods, Drake’s attorneys sent certified mail to five different addresses on August 7. The subpoena orders Asamoah to provide documents, information, or access to locations tied to the alleged streaming manipulation at the heart of Drake’s defamation suit against Universal Music Group (UMG).

According to court filings, Drake claims Asamoah coordinated payments or financial incentives from UMG to third parties engaged in botting—artificially inflating the song’s streaming numbers.

Drake’s lawyers have been searching for Asamoah for months, even employing private investigators. He’s one of more than 60 witnesses they plan to question in the case.

On July 30, 1996, legendary Texas duo UGK (Underground Kingz), made up of Bun B and the late Pimp C, released their third studio album, ‘Ridin’ Dirty.’ Released through Jive Records, the album marked a pivotal moment for Southern rap, showcasing UGK’s raw storytelling, Southern pride, and soulful production.

Though it didn’t receive heavy mainstream promotion and had no official singles or music videos, ‘Ridin’ Dirty’ became a cult classic almost entirely through word of mouth and grassroots support. The album is revered for its honest reflections on Southern street life, laid-back yet gritty production—handled almost entirely by Pimp C—and lyrical authenticity that set the tone for future generations of Southern artists.

Tracks like “One Day,” “Murder,” and the title track “Ridin’ Dirty” captured the spirit of the South and the struggles that came with it. With Bun B’s lyrical precision and Pimp C’s charismatic delivery and musical genius, UGK delivered a body of work that remains one of the most influential Southern rap albums of all time.
