Post 2 of 3

The first post was more of an introduction to get everyone familiar with Mike Riley’s incredible abode… but now we step outside, because the magic continues in the backyard.

From the moment you walk out, you’re greeted by knights in shining armor standing guard, and signs straight out of Alice in Wonderland pointing the way to whatever world you want to wander into next. Then there’s the Yellow Submarine, a nod to the Beatles that instantly puts a smile on your face, and the guitar fireplace gazebo, which might be one of the coolest pieces I’ve ever photographed.

A whimsical path winds through the yard, weaving its way around an old tree filled with musical instruments and spinning creations that dance with the breeze. Every corner has personality. Every detail invites you to slow down.

This is the kind of backyard where you can relax after a long day, gather your thoughts, reminisce, or just drift back in time for a moment of quiet solitude.

Part One
I was honored with a pretty unique opportunity last week—I was invited to do a photoshoot at the home of a true Charlotte County legend. Many of you know him as the front man of The Boogiemen, others know him as a former school director and gym teacher… but almost everyone who ever crossed his path simply calls him Coach: Mike Riley.

Walking through Mike’s home is like stepping into a living museum of music and memories. The moment you step inside, the guitar mounted above your head begins to play, setting the tone for everything that follows. He has over 100 guitars on display—yes, you read that right—and every single piece in his home has a story behind it. From the iconic Yellow Submarine to walls of memorabilia, everything in that house carries a piece of his journey.

And then there’s the backyard… an Alice in Wonderland-style escape, complete with a carriage and more character than I could ever capture in one trip.

Here are a few photos from that day—just a glimpse into Mike’s world. And trust me… I’ll be back for more. There was no way to finish this in one visit.

This is the first of a few posts.

In this shot, you’re looking over the shoulder of John Wilson — a Hendry County man and a proud racing dad with two sons out on the track. He’s standing at the fence, eyes locked ahead as his son, Rhett Wilson, throws down in an all-race-long battle for the lead in the Factory Stock feature.

You can’t see John’s face, but you don’t have to… his stance tells the whole story. The tension. The pride. The kind of moment every racing parent knows by heart.
