Magruder Hospital Hosts Blood Drive - The American Red Cross will have a blood drive in the Magruder Hospital Conference Center on Friday, May 15, 2026 from 10am to 4pm. Appointments are required and can be made by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS, or visiting www.redcrossblood.org. Nearby blood drives can always be found by going to redcrossblood.org and entering your zip code. The recent winter weather forced the cancellation of many blood drives, so please consider donating at a drive near you.

The American Red Cross encourages donors with O negative, O positive, A negative or B negative blood to consider making a Power Red donation. With just a little extra time you can increase your impact on patients in need. The Power Red process separates your red blood cells from the other blood components, then safety and comfortably returns your plasma and platelets to you. Many donors say they prefer this type of donation because it requires a smaller needle and fluids are returned to the donor during the donation process.

Magruder Hospital Offers Monthly Diabetes Get-Togethers - The next Magruder Diabetes Get-Together will be on Thursday, May 7, 2026 in the Magruder conference center at 1:00 pm. These free get-togethers are for anyone dealing with Diabetes or Pre-Diabetes, including family and friends. The topic for May will be “Healthier Summer Desserts.” Discussions are led by Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialists. Attend to learn, have your questions answered and support one another.
