This cake has a story.
A loyal customer reached out to me wanting to order a wedding cake for her sister. After finalizing the details about flavors and servings count, I asked her to send inspiration pics. I'll admit that I didn't look closely at the pic and told her I could do it.
Fast forward to the week of the wedding, I get the cakes baked, frosted and fondant covered. Now onto the design/decorations. My first attempt was a complete failure so I removed all the fondant and drapes to start again.
The second attempt went a little better but I still wasn't happy. I removed the drapes again and studied the pic to see what I was doing wrong. That's when I realized the inspiration pic was actually an AI image. No wonder I couldn't get it to look right. Lol
So, I proceeded to attempt to go for the "mood, impression" of the cake. I'm overall happy with the outcome and even with the frustrations and restarts, the cake was still fun to make. I enjoy a good challenge sometimes. 🙂
