🎨🐾 WE HAVE SOME VERY BIG BLANK CANVASES — AND WE WANT YOU TO FILL THEM! 🐾🎨
Our shelter could use a little COLOR, and we’re looking for local artists, schools, art classes, high school students, community groups, and creative animal lovers who want to help us transform some very plain walls and containers into something fun!
We have multiple spaces around the shelter available to be painted, including:
🎨 The road-facing doors of four shipping containers
🎨 A 40-foot-long side of a shipping container
🎨 The parking-lot-facing side of our small shed
🎨 The door side of the small shed
🎨 A large concrete block wall
🎨 Anywhere in our parking lot!
🎨 Our sidewalks! Maybe some paw prints leading away from our door signaling the journey to their forever home?
And we’re giving you the canvas FREE! ❤️
During the week of October 19–23, we’re inviting artists and groups to come out and create murals, paintings, or spray-painted artwork featuring animals, animal-related designs, shelter life, or anything else that you feel represents an animal shelter.
Maybe it’s a giant dog. 🐶
Maybe it’s a wall full of cats. 🐱
Maybe it’s paw prints, flowers, bones, birds, or a colorful combination of everything. 🐾
What you create is up to you!

⏰ Monday–Friday, 8 AM–4 PM
You’re welcome to come paint during our regular business hours while staff is here. If you have high school students or a group that needs to come on a weekend, just email us and we can work with you to arrange a time. 😊
A few ground rules:
🐾 Artwork must be politically neutral
🐾 Artwork must be appropriate for children and the general public
🐾 No vulgar, offensive, or otherwise inappropriate themes
🐾 Artwork should be positive, colorful, and related to animals, shelters, or the community
🐾 Artists/groups are responsible for bringing all supplies they need, including paint, brushes, spray paint, ladders, drop cloths, etc.
🐾 Any artists under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
We’ll provide a place to warm up and a bathroom if you need one while you’re here!
This is open to everyone. Professional artists, art teachers looking for a student project, high school art classes, local businesses, community organizations, or just a group of friends who want to spend a day making something cool.
We have some BIG blank spaces, and we’d love to turn them into something that makes people smile when they pull into the shelter. ❤️🐾
