Here’s a good example of why the saying “when thunder roars, go indoors” is so widely used. Each of these red dots is a cloud to ground lightning strike. Most of them are clustered around the Richmond and Casco area, where a thunderstorm has developed. However, notice the one dot on Downtown Mt. Clemens. That’s a lightning strike some 15 miles away from the storm!
