Tonight I will be attending the Port Neches-Groves ISD meeting. One item on the agenda to be discussed is the public grievance concerning the school’s mascot. Moments ago this was the scene at the Beaumont Police Department where officers have made an arrest in the severe child abuse/death case of JaKadien Shaw. His mother, Quenisha Hawkins, shown here, was transported to the Jefferson County Jail on two first degree felonies of injury to a child by act and injury to a child by omission. I’ll have live reports at 5:00 and 6:00 on KFDM and 5:30 on FOX.
