Other than the Indianapolis 500, I don’t think there’s ever been a race I’ve wanted to be a part of on the mic as badly as I’ve wanted to be a part of the Chili Bowl Nationals.

Thank you to everyone at FloRacing and the Chili Bowl for having me.

This week was proof that no matter what the negative voices in your life say, ignore them. If you believe you can really do something and are prepared to work as long as it takes, don’t listen to the doubters. They are probably wrong about a lot more than just your ability to accomplish a goal.

I am already counting down the days, minutes and hours to the 41st running of the Chili Bowl Nationals.

This past Friday was a genuine surprise and a true honor to be named 410 Sprint Car racing’s media member of the year. And to tie in that vote with Justin Fiedler of DIRTRACKR is also quite special.

The truth is that this is a massive deal to me considering the roller coaster I have ridden the past 5 years professionally.

First and foremost I am grateful to High Limit Racing for their initial belief in me two years ago, and for their continued trust in me to do what I do. Brad Sweet and the decision makers at HL took a chance on me at a time in my career when I feared I had run out of opportunities despite knowing I was capable of great things. I simply needed someone to believe in me.
Moments like this remind me to stay focused on what I do, never be monotone, try to standout and continue to work hard for not only myself, but the people who trust me to tell this sports’ stories.
I love my job.

And speaking of High Limit, I am truly PROUD to be just one of the NSCHOF award winners from our series. Brad Sweet&Kyle Larson win promoters of the year. Rico Abreu and RAR win National 410 driver AND team of the year. And Brad Sweet is awarded with the Outstanding Contribution to the Sport Award. High Limit is improving sprint car racing daily. I am grateful I get to be on this team.

From calling national and international karting, hosting Mazda Road to Indy TV, being the P.A voice at IMSA, providing play by play for Mazda MX5 Cup & USAC National Racing, and now reporting on racers and their stories at High Limit, so many people and parties are responsible for making this honor a reality.

Thank you so much to everyone who voted for me. And thank you to everyone for the congratulatory texts, direct messages, posts and calls. My most sincere congratulations to all the fellow award winners and HOF inductees, especially a man I’m lucky to say I knew personally, Eloy Gutierrez.

Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays to you all. I look forward to seeing you at a High Limit race in 2026.

I’m in an amazing spot today with High Limit Racing thanks to the Eggers opening their homes, hearts and family to me and making sure I got to the next stop on this wild ride.
Seeing them for a few hours last night took me back to Traeger dinners, cleaning rental karts, and getting dropped off at PDX to go to wherever IMSA, Road to Indy or MX-5 Cup was racing that weekend.
Man, I miss them.

My old world and my new world continue to collide.
Last night while hanging out at Knoxville for night one of the nationals I had the great fortune of reuniting with a friend from my Indycar/IMSA days.
Sean Patrick is a pit lane/tech official for Indycar racing who I met nearly 10 years ago when I was hosting Road to Indy TV. He was a good guy then, and he’s a good guy now. We talked for nearly an hour last night before and after the races.

I miss working in that side of motorsports some times, but I always miss the people. Sean is one of the real ones.
It was great to catch up and touch base on everything going on in a form of racing that’s still very special to me.

Last night was incredible

2 years ago I was out of announcing / broadcasting and was in a “War With my Mind” (Flatland Cavalry) that I would never get back to what I enjoy so much.

Brad Sweet, Kyle Larson and High Limit Racing along with Flo Racing took a chance on a guy who hadn’t held a mic in 24 months.

The fact we all were just on live national television and I get to come in to the homes of real race fans all season long via Flo is so amazing, but I’ll tell you a secret.

This clip from the post race fan stage last night… this is what I love the most. Standing toe-to-toe with a huge… screaming…. and excited crowd. And shoulder to shoulder with some of the greatest racers in the world celebrating our sport. That’s the stuff that I catch myself going “no way”.

I love my job and I’m grateful to do it with who I do it with.

IMSA Saturday & Sunday in Ohio.

Spent the last 10 nights in 9 different hotels and the flight for High Limit Racing’s Eagle Nationals takes off in 12 hours.

Maybe it’ll slow down in December.
