We have received several reports of someone falsely claiming to be a deputy with the Gulf County Sheriff's Office. The scammer tells the person that they have fines or warrants and is even trying to arrange a meeting with the person in order to collect payment!

The Gulf County Sheriff's Office would like to remind you:

β€’ A law enforcement officer will never ask for cash in the event a family member has a warrant.
β€’ Do NOT wire transfer or purchase gift cards for anyone claiming to be a law enforcement officer or any other government representative.
β€’ Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information over the phone.
β€’ Verify, verify, verify.

Keep in mind, while these scammers may be convincing, NO LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY will ask you for payment in lieu of arrest.

If you have any concerns, please contact us at 850-227-1115 (non-emergency).

Join us in congratulating Hannah Pridgeon on being selected the Florida Park Service District 1 Employee of the Year!

Nominator Jon Dillard says, "Hannah has a strong passion for the park service and our mission as a whole, which she exemplifies through her personality and her work on a daily basis. She started her career off as an OPS Ranger and promoted to an FTE Ranger position within six months. Hannah is involved in all areas of the park's day to day operations and is eager to continue learning all that the job has to offer. She also took on many extra duties including helping to oversee the park's newly renovated cabin facilities and operations, assisting with staff trainings, and branching out into many administrative tasks as well. Additionally, she took on the extra challenge of covering Volunteer Coordinator duties while another staff member was on extended leave. Hannah is always there for her co-workers and is first to think of her team when out in the field or planning her work. She is great with our park visitors, and exemplifies our mission through her actions and interactions with the public. Hannah shows up with a positive attitude every day, ready to work, and does not shy away from a challenge. She also recently promoted to Park Service Specialist and has taken on the challenge of overseeing the park's natural resource management program."

Congratulations Hannah!

Sheriff Mike Harrison had the honor of presenting Ms. Terri with a Lifetime Honorary Membership to the Florida Sheriffs Association. πŸ† Ms. Terri shared the heartfelt story of how she became a member and why she continues to support the mission of the FSA. Her late father, Mr. Paul R. Bigley, was a longtime supporter, and she has proudly carried on his legacy.

Sheriff Harrison spoke about how support for the Florida Sheriffs Association directly impacts law enforcement and youth programs across the state. Memberships help provide training, equipment, scholarships, and programs like the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches, which shape the future of our communities.

Thank you, Ms. Terri and the Bigley family, for your unwavering support through the years! πŸ™ŒπŸ’›
