Creating a Heart of Gratitude

One of the most powerful emotions is gratitude. If we can find ways to be thankful and grateful throughout our life, we will find the power and emotional strength to walk through some of life’s hardest seasons.

It's not always easy to find ways to be thankful and grateful. But, one of the things Scripture teaches us throughout the Psalms is that there is always something to be grateful for.

The Psalms teach us various songs and poems for every season of our life. But more than that, they also teach us how to cultivate a heart of gratitude and worship towards God.

We belong to a God who loves us and cares deeply for us. God’s love and goodness will never end. Psalm 100:5 praises God for these things:

"For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations."

Through Psalms like this, we can begin to build a habit of gratitude towards God and all that He has done. We can thank God for what He has done in our lives, what He is currently doing, and what He will do in the future as we follow after Him.

Because God is always good, loving, and faithful, there is always something we can be grateful for even in the midst of difficult seasons of life.

Take a few moments today to strengthen the habit of gratitude in your life.

First, begin by thanking God for who He is: that He is good, faithful, and loving towards you.

Next, thank God for all that He has done. Thank Him for the good things in your life, and that He has walked with you through the hard times.

"Psychology suggests that people who thank drivers as they cross the street aren't necessarily expressing gratitude, it's a way we acknowledge the social interaction and showing mutual respect for the person driving.

Here's the English translation:
Psychology suggests that people who wave or a simple "Thank You" to drivers when crossing the street can go a long way, don't just do it simply out of gratitude, but simply do it as a form of social acknowledgment & respect to the driver.

What's interesting about this gesture is almost never planned, it simply happens automatically our mind simply reacts to the situation. Honestly is a good feeling, is like the person driving infront puts on the signal lights to show which way they going, that's acknowledging the person driving behind you.

The Big Five personality theory often associates this behavior with kindness, cooperativeness, friendliness, and concern for others.

Therefore, I think & feel that a simply saying "Thank You" in these situations, gratitude can be interpreted as a small act of prosocial interaction.

In practice, this reflects everyday qualities such as kindness, empathy, gratitude, and social awareness, recognizing that traffic is made up of people, not just vehicles. In the Christian faith it can also show that You have God in your heart & in your life at all times present.

To many people this gesture might seem like it's an insignificant gesture, but it shows that you are present in the moment and able to quickly notice what's happening around you.

This is a beautiful verse. Psalm 119:7 it reminds us, that true worship grows out of knowing & obeying God's Word.

I will praise you with an upright heart as I learn your righteous laws.
Psalm 119:7

This verse teaches three important truths:

Praise begins in the heart. God desires sincere worship that comes from honesty and devotion, not just outward actions.

Learning God's Word transforms us.

The psalmist connects praise with continually learning God's righteous laws. I think that as we continue to learn on how truly understand God's character and His will, our worship will deepen even more each day that passes by.

Spiritual growth is a journey. The phrase "as I learn" shows humility. We don't have to know everything before we can praise God; we worship Him while He teaches and shapes us.

A simple prayer inspired by this verse:

Heavenly Father, give me an upright heart that sincerely seeks You.
As I learn Your Word, help me to understand, obey, and delight in Your righteous ways. May my life be filled with genuine praise that honors You every day. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Ephesians 6:13 (NIV)
"Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand."

When we talk about putting on the Armor of God, what is the first thing that comes to your mind?

Is it simply trusting God and continuing to move forward? Or is it a combination of reading His Word, praying, and maintaining our faith no matter the situation, the process, or the challenges you may be facing?

For my Family & I believe it's all of those things.

Recently, my husband and I have been facing one of the biggest challenges of our lives. It has not been easy.

At times it has been overwhelming, stressful, and emotionally exhausting.

There have even been moments when we felt like giving up and questioned whether we wanted to continue worshiping or even seeking God's presence is worth it, because of so many conflict & so many questions at the same times. It becomes in part the reason why we can't see or becomes the reason why we can't see the blessings God has instore for us.

When life hits us, it can hit incredibly hard. It can make
us second guess ourselves, make us question our abilities in many ways than not, the evil fill our mind & our heart with fear and doubt. That is often where the enemy begins to work mixing lies with just enough or little truth to make us believe we're defeated, alone, not worthy or even feeling that we are not good enough..

Suddenly, our minds become overwhelmed with work issues, financial struggles, family problems, difficult decisions, disappointments, and the uncertainty of what tomorrow may bring. We find ourselves standing at a crossroads, wondering which direction to take.

But this is exactly why God tells us to put on the full Armor of God.

The armor doesn't remove every battle, but it prepares us to stand firm in the middle of them. It reminds us to staying rooted in God's truth, that when we pray without ceasing, when we keep reading His Word, and we continue trusting Him even when we cannot see what He is doing.

As I continue learning God's Word, my pastor often reminds us of Philippians 4:5–7:

*"The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

No matter how difficult or how busy our lives may be, we most, trust & put everything in Our Lord & Savior's capable hands.

But we must surrender & believe with our whole being that only GOD can help us pull though every difficulties in out personal h professionals lives.

Rooted & Establishes in Love.
Ephesians 3:17-18

A Thought...
You are not trying to earn Christ’s love or grow into it by effort alone you are invited to rest inside it.
His love is not shallow or temporary; it surrounds you like an ocean with no edges.

Mini Reflection...
Ephesians 3:17–18
Reminds us that real spiritual strength doesn’t come from striving it comes from being rooted. Like a tree, your stability depends on what’s beneath the surface. When Christ dwells in your heart through faith, love becomes your foundation, not just your feeling.

And Paul doesn’t stop at “love” he describes it as something immeasurable: wide enough for your past, long enough for your journey, high enough to lift your hopes, and deep enough to hold your pain. That means nothing about your life is outside of His reach.

Even when you don’t fully understand what God is doing, you are still held inside a love that never shrinks with circumstances.

Message :

Luke: 2.14.

Reflection: Glory, Peace, and Good Will

When the angels announced the birth of Jesus, they didn't speak of power, wealth, or earthly success. Instead, they proclaimed glory to God, peace on earth, and good will toward humanity.

This verse reminds us that true peace begins when God is given His rightful place in our hearts. The peace Jesus brings is not merely the absence of problems; it is the calm assurance that God is with us, even in difficult seasons. His good will toward us reveals His love, mercy, and desire to draw us closer to Him.

In a world often filled with worry, conflict, and uncertainty, Luke 2:14 invites us to lift our eyes toward heaven, glorify God, and trust that His peace can steady our hearts. I know that when we receive God's peace, we are more able to extend kindness, grace, and goodwill to others.
