Dress like you already won.

There’s something about getting dressed with intention that changes the way you carry yourself.

Not for anyone else. Not because there’s somewhere important to be. Just because feeling good in what you’re wearing can shift the whole day.

Personal style has always been about more than clothes.

Sometimes the right outfit just reminds you to show up like yourself.

Wear often. Apologize never.

Quiet luxury sold understatement as taste, then made disappearing look aspirational.

They didn’t teach you taste. They taught you not to get caught trying.

Bunny Mellon famously said, “Nothing should be noticed” in 1969 about the garden she created at Oak Spring. Fashion later turned that kind of restraint into something much bigger: a dress code.

I spend my days surrounded by vintage clothes with actual personalities, so maybe I’m biased.

Understatement can be beautiful. So can restraint. But neither is automatically better taste, and personal style was never supposed to make you disappear.

Understatement is not the same thing as a self.

Where do you land on quiet luxury: elegant restraint or too much sameness?
