For many reasons, the B & B is shutting down for at least this season. Maintenance and remodeling challenges which could result in negative reviews are issues, but the biggest one is insurance. We have two rooms and it costs us $500 a month just in business insurance. When you are only getting reservations for peak months, 6 months a year, we would need $1000 a month just to cover insurance. When you average 10 to 12 nights a month in room rates, then laundry expenses, labor expenses, utilities, taxes, third party fees, mortgage, toilet paper, food, wear and tear on appliances, etc, we are in the hole consistently. We have made NO money and are in the hole. We absolutely love our wonderful guests, but until we are able to get lower insurance and more rooms, it is not feasible. We hope to open when we are able to overcome these obstacles.

No guests tonight, so I was out getting things from my car in my robe and my hair all a mess and there is a CAR with guests in the drive!!! Not on our books, but sure enough they showed their reservation to me on their phone!! Well, COME ON IN! And happy FIFTH anniversary!

The back area is undergoing a transformation with new fencing, lighting, trim trimming, patio area, and pergola to house our outside kitchen!!

What a relief to have finally secured some partially rain-free time! We are currently working on the pergola area outside the back of the house. Last year, we finally disposed of the hot tub. Here are some pictures.

Love hate relationship. Yep. Love it. Hate it that the job jar is always full. Love the guests. Hate unexpected emergency repairs. Especially when we have wonderful guests coming.

When I Go somewhere different for rest and relaxation and want to be treated special, a choose a REAL bed and breakfast!! I want to meet my host and hear the history and stories. I want to have those extra special touches and be told where the best out of the way shops, restaurants, and local events are. I love being a part of a community! Connected! VRBO ain't got nothing on us, baby! Can I get you an iced tea? Sit around a fire or on the front porch swing!!! Let me start that fireplace for ya!

The Rose is hopping tonight! Two great grandmas(Cork's mom and my mom) and a grandma and grandpa (Cork and I), son and daughter in law (Craig and Brandy)and three grandkids (Arianna, Kinley, and Andre), our son in law Jshawn,..... And two return guests!! Good night all and Merry Christmas.
