It’s GIVING TUESDAY! And we are so excited to say we will finally have a 2022 season!
But we need your help, LCTC will be coming back with some new goals and a strong dedication to serve our community to our fullest capability. That means paying our artists and creatives more, and meeting production costs in this new normal. We could really use your support!

The last play in our anthology is Motherly Advice, by Rodney Rhoda Taylor. Mothers, carry us for nine month, birth us, raise us, and then think they can continue to give us advice and tell us how to live our lives, even when we don't ask for it.

Sam has recently proposed to James, but James has yet to give an answer because of their lost s*x tape? While looking for the tape with his sister, Diane their mother drops in for an unexpected visit, and finally meets Sam, the towel wearing future fiancé. By the end of the evening, they find the s*x tape, in an unexpected location and receive some helpful "advice" from mom.

Our next play in is Falling, by Terry Maloney Hayley. It's the typical story of boy girl love with the usual parental issues.

A man and a woman in their twenties exchange “I love you's for the first time, then embark on a harrowing conversation about love, s*x, and monogamy. His gay moms and her gay dads have influenced each of them in ways that are uniquely challenging when it comes to commitment.

The next play in our anthology is Wingman by Eli Effinger-Weintraub. Its the typical, mother, daughter relationship.

Deb, still smarting from a breakup, should know better than to take her mother Marian to the local le***an bar. But Marian's insistent, and she seems sincere, so, what could it hurt? Too bad Deb hasn't anticipated Marian taking over as queen of the bar stool and playing yenta for her poor, single daughter.

The first play in our anthology is Who Are These People?, by Chris Maltby. It's the tale of one of the most dreaded moments in any relationship: Meeting the family.

Josh has fallen in love with Michael, the man of his dreams, and – surprise! – Michael seems to feel the same way. Naturally this sends Josh into a neurotic frenzy of fear that he’ll screw the relationship up and die alone. In the midst of this, he realizes he’ll have to introduce Michael to his accepting yet unpredictable family.

Our fourth play in , is Runaway by Charles Zito. Is the typical tale of someone thinking they are fooling the family, but do we really?

When he and his Mother disagree over his new boyfriend, Tommy runs away from home to his favorite Uncle in Manhattan. Uncle Tony is much less sympathetic than Tommy hoped for, but then Tony is hiding his own secret. Or at least he thinks he is. When his sister Rose arrives looking for her son, Tony discovers that the entire family already knows the truth and nobody cares. Certainly not Rose, who settles matters with her son and gives her brother some much needed perspective.

This anthology is a collection of six plays, each one explores the uniqueness, craziness, and those "oh my God I can't believe my parents just did that" moments on our lives. We all have them, they drive us crazy, but one thing is for sure, families are always full of . . . character!

And meet our last author, Rodney Rhoda Taylor, the founder of Left Coast Theatre, Co. and Left Coast Publishing:

Rodney Rhoda Taylor founded Left Coast Theatre Co. to provide LGBT theatrical artists a means for their work to reach a broader audience so their voices can be heard. He has also written the short plays Baby Christina, Motherly Advice and My Fairy Godmothers.

Our forth author has been with Left Coast Theatre Co since it's inception in 2012, he now makes his third appearance in one of our books: Chris Maltby

Chris has been acting, writing and directing for LCTC since 2012. His first play, Happily Ever After, was made into a short film in 2016 and in 2018, he directed and co-wrote Come Here Often?, the first full-length play created by the company. Chris is happy to call San Francisco home.
