We’re thrilled to give you the whole lowdown on this year’s Nostalgia Office Holiday Party. We understand that we’re not as young as we used to be, and some people like to come out a bit earlier. So the Goodfoot was kind enough to open the doors early for us at 8pm. Just like in the old days, if you show up the first hour, you’ll have a reduced cover of $10. Going up to $15 at 9pm. We’re happy to be able to offer the cheaper door charge this year, with this tightened economy. Please bring cash money for the door. The three Nostalgia residents will be holding down the duties on the turntables this year. We think that everyone will feel right at home with the lower ceilings, black walls and mirrors on the dancefloor. It may remind you of something. But don’t climb up on the speakers! We’re excited to see you all in the holiday season!

My dear sweet club kids -
As many of you know, our Nostalgia planning team began this adventure back in 2010 with one thought in mind - to assemble the best OG lineup of your favorite DJs from back in the day and put together the most memorable reunion possible. Something that you would look forward to, unlike high school reunions or your random 80s night; something that would draw old friends from faraway places to experience the magic in person. Our very first Nostalgia was an unforgettable night of music and reconnection.

We waited a couple years to bring you the second one in 2012; the third one didn’t follow until 2022 because we wanted to find the perfect location, and suitable venues in Portland are scarce.

Once we were able to secure a steady home, sadly many of our friends were gone. As we poured over tons of pictures of people at the first and second events, we noticed a lot of folks in them that were no longer with us. We decided Nostalgia needed to be an annual event, to celebrate this unique experience we all shared with as many people as possible for as long as we could keep this going.

This year, however… things look a bit different.
Life has a way of placing the worst obstacles in your path, and the particular obstacle I happen to be facing is taking some time to maneuver through. A lot of love and energy and hard work goes into the planning of these events, because you all deserve nothing less than the very best - it makes me sad to even say out loud that it’d be too great a challenge this year to plan a full-blown Nostalgia VI. Next year, yes… but this year, it’s just a bit too much at the moment for me.

Nostalgia means a lot to me on a personal level, as I know it does for many of you. And it would be a shame to not make SOMEthing happen this year. I truly love putting on this event; to me it’s even *more* important now that we keep this whole thing going. The DJs feel the same way. So here is our compromise. We are putting together a Nostalgia of a smaller scale, and we would love it if you were able to attend.

The Nostalgia Holiday Office Party will be on December 20th at the Goodfoot Pub & Lounge (2845 SE Stark St., Portland). Cover charge will be at the door (no advance tickets) but we’ll be offering incentives to those who show up early. More info to come as we get closer!

With much love, humility, and respect,
Melody

It is through tears that I share with all of you that we lost our dear Anissa Harvey today, after an all-too-brief battle with breast cancer. Our hearts are heavy.

Hug a fellow club kid today if you can.

Much love from your Nostalgia family.

Melody here -

Still wrapping my head around the epic Nostalgia 5 this weekend.

I love it when new faces appear that haven’t been to one. I feel so lucky that I get to relive that magic every time. And it truly was magical.

I’ve been saying for years that Nostalgia PDX is what it is because we strive for authenticity. Bringing DJs out of retirement, dusting off records and skills and making this party truly memorable is what we’re about. We started this 14 years ago, graduating eventually to an annual event… and I think we’ve got some big plans in store for our 15-year anniversary.

The music. Oh, the music. Two rooms!! That honestly was the best part of all of this. The variety we got with having two rooms. I couldn’t sit down all night. And I fear I didn’t say hi to everyone but of those I got to chat with, I’m glad I saw your faces. There are so many more faces I missed terribly. I want to keep seeing all of them until the very last person can no longer dance. 💃 🕺 Please plan on attending one if you haven’t yet, or haven’t in a while.

I’m going to be sending a survey out soon, and I want to hear from those who have been avoiding them. What would convince you to go? We really do want to see you!
For those who didn’t attend this year but have in the past, I wanna know why, and how we can ensure you plan on making the next one. We want you back!
