We're together with friends and family today and taking a break from the adventures to reflect on what Jesus did for us.

It's hard to believe these Utah landscapes are even real..

But, if you know us, you know we're not into that AI generated stuff. 😉

Hanksville is very much a real place. It's just a little off the beaten path. And then these landscapes are even further off the path.

But sometimes that's where you find the very best views.

This little town in the middle-of-nowhere Utah can be easy to overlook. But it's home to some of the coolest places we've ever hiked or camped out.

Not far from the bustle of Orlando, we found a stretch of Florida that feels like a whole different world: Wekiwa Springs and the emerald green waters that wind through Rock Springs Run.

We started our visit by paddling into the legendary Emerald Cut from King’s Landing. The name makes sense almost immediately thanks to crystal clear water flowing over the white sandy bottom. And the jungle-like foliage overhead adds to the illusion that you're somewhere very, very far from central Florida.

The next day we made camp along the river. That's right - we paddled our way down into the park to our own private site among the trees. If you're ready for that kind of adventure, King's Landing can set you up with the gear needed. And if an overnight canoe trip isn't your thing, you can still camp right there at the put-in.

This part of Florida caught us by surprise. These are the kinds of little adventures we look for everywhere we go, and sure enough, we found it.

For a place that’s only a short boat ride away, Peanut Island feels like a little tropical escape hidden in plain sight.

It's tucked into the Intracoastal just outside Palm Beach, and works just as well for a slow afternoon on the beach as it does for an easy overnight camping trip.

We spent two full days here, dividing our time between snorkeling, kayaking, beach bumming, and just hanging out at our campsite.

The snorkeling here is surprisingly good. Calm, clear water, with an artificial reef just offshore to attract loads of fish.

Most people come over for the day, but staying overnight was what really made the experience for us. Once the last ferry leaves and the day visitors are gone, the island quiets down completely. We took a walk around the perimeter loop and felt like we were on our own private island.

𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝘀𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻?

No? Doesn't sound like a real thing?

Yeah, it's a pretty rare problem. In fact, we may be some of the only people with it.

But here's the truth: we just keep track of everything.

Like, not only how many miles we drove, how much gas cost, but also the exact place we parked the van for the night. Oh, and how much we spent at the laundromat. Every visit.

Yeah, so now you can see that this addiction is a real thing.

So how is it affecting our lives?

Well, thanks for asking. We appreciate the concern. 🫶🏻

Honestly, the negative consequences are minimal. Sometimes just a nagging itch to get into Google Sheets and do some formatting.

Anyway, it's actually resulted in something pretty cool: we know EXACTLY how much we've spent on van life for the past three years.

Down to the penny. No joke.
