🌟 Wrapping Up Our BIPOC Business of the Month Coverage 🌟

Over the past month, we’ve had the pleasure of highlighting BIPOC Business of the month, Club Sky High. From showcasing their unique offerings to celebrating their contributions to the local economy, we’ve seen firsthand the impact the Club Sky High family has in St. Johns. Today, we’re closing our series with a special focus on one of the most inspiring aspects of Club Sky High.

🌿 Garden of Possibilities at Club Sky High 🌿

Did you know that Club Sky High was once more than just a dispensary? It was a haven for green thumbs and aspiring gardeners, a place where the love for gardening and sustainable living flourished. The Club Sky High garden store offered everything from grow supplies to soil and lights, empowering individuals to cultivate their own green spaces.

The Garden of Possibilities became a sanctuary for those who found peace and joy in gardening. It provided a sense of community and shared purpose, where knowledge was exchanged and friendships were formed. People came together to learn, grow, and nurture not only plants but also connections within the neighborhood.

Despite regulatory changes forcing its closure, the legacy of the Garden of Possibilities lives on in the hearts of our community. Rachel, the heart and soul behind Club Sky High, hopes to revive this aspect of our business in the future. She envisions a space where the community can once again come together to cultivate both plants and connections, fostering a deeper bond with nature and each other.

Thank you to the Club Sky High family for your dedication, commitment, and service to our community. Your hard work and perseverance have made your dispensary stand out as one of Portland’s only woman and Black family-owned businesses. We definitely want to highlight the Resiliency of this local business, Amidst Adversity.

Running a small business in a heavily regulated industry isn’t for the faint of heart. Owner Rachel and family experienced daily battles against systemic barriers and corporate encroachment are a testament to her resilience. Despite the odds, Club Sky High stands tall, a beacon of hope and resilience in the face of adversity.

Local Roots, Strong Community: At Club Sky High, the commitment to the local community runs deep. It’s more than just a business; it’s a hub for locals, by locals. Lillie, Rachel’s daughter, captures the essence of St. Johns perfectly, cherishing the vibrant events and the unparalleled sense of togetherness they foster within the neighborhood.

A testament to St Johns community truly supporting one another. Rachel shares the Unity in Adversity.

We are so excited to kick off the month of June with our BIPOC Business of the Month: Club Sky High.

Throughout this month we will be diving into this family run business with deep roots in the St. Johns community!

Run by mother Rachel, Husband Tobin, daughter Lillie and son Tim, Club Sky High is building a family legacy! It is a women + black owned business in the heart of St. Johns. From its inception in 2013, Club Sky High has been a labor of love for owner Rachel and her family. What began as the third medical dispensary in Oregon evolved into a beacon of hope and healing for the community. With Rachel, her husband, and son Timothy at the helm, it’s a testament to the power of familial dedication.

The components of this family run business are the store front, the warehouse and the family farm. The farm operates as a fully integrated company, managing every step from seed to soil to table, with each member playing a crucial role in its success. Tobin and Tim, a father-and-son team, oversee the warehouse and farm in Grants Pass. Known as Club Sky High, the farm is renowned for its moon rocks. Tobin, the father, pioneered the BHO moon rocks and introduced them to the Oregon market, serving as the company’s process. Tim, the son, is the cultivator and grower, ensuring the high quality of the farms products.
