Did I mention it has its own song?

Men in Black is just perfection. It’s so well paced and packed with action that it honestly flies by, which makes it the perfect movie for rewatchability.

It’s got the perfect cast and the perfect soundtrack. The chemistry between Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith, although an unlikely match, ended up being what makes the movie so fantastic and fun to watch.

If you haven’t seen it in a while, give it another watch. It still holds up and it’s hard to find a better popcorn blockbuster movie that appeals to so many people even 30 years after its initial release.

My local movie theater is closing down.

It’s been open less than a year after a new renovation that took it right down to the studs.

They added premium formats and brand new seats, speakers, screens, and projectors.

I’ve gone at least a dozen times, and the parking lot is always packed when I go.

I don’t know what the future of the movie theater is, but it sure doesn’t seem bright.

Chains are taking over. The experience is worse every year. And local spots can’t stay open.

This sucks.

I’m scared to say that this trailer looks…good?

Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story is coming to Netflix on September 17th. I’m scared to say it looks intriguing because the last couple Monster series have let me down. But Dahmer was great - so maybe we’re back to that level?

The cast looks great. The sets and the costumes look great. It looks like they’re leaving into a bit of a feminist, q***r, rage filled interpretation of the story — which while based in no historical fact — could make for an interesting story.

Only time will tell - and that time is September 17th only on Netflix US.

Well this was a first!

I had Tom Garris from WMUR and NH Chronicle out to my house today for a story about physical media!

We did a full sit down interview and a little collection tour with some really fun segments. I had a blast showing everything off and talking movies with the Chronicle team.

I think it’s going to be a great episode with some other local collectors and physical media enthusiasts and I can’t wait for everyone to see it. It should be out sometime in September - I’ll keep you posted!

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is getting a hand-drawn rotoscoped reimagining — and I got an early look.

Dark Sky Films and Exurbia Films have announced a fully hand-animated rotoscoped reimagining of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, created without AI and set for release in 2027. 

The project is led by animation director and art director Paul Beck,  the artist behind the rotoscoped style in Richard Linklater’s Waking Life and A Scanner Darkly. So if you loved that dreamlike, hand-traced look, this is the same team bringing it to Leatherface’s world.

I saw the sneak peek footage at Texas Chain Saw Day, and it’s genuinely one of the most striking horror reimaginings I’ve seen in years. This isn’t a just another remake with a new script. It’s the same film, the same performances, but redrawn frame by frame.

I cannot wait to see the Final Cut!

Over 50 years after its original release, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre still cuts audiences deep.

I got to see the film in theaters for the first time on Texas Chain Saw Day (August 18th) and it re-affirmed some of what I had written about the classic last year.

This movie was a wake-up call for Americans.

In a post-Vietnam world filled with serial killers, political violence, and disturbing imagery on televisions in every home for the first time in human history, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre confronted this violence head on and shocked audiences.

With very little blood and limited violence shown on screen, the movie used the imagination of the audience to fill in the blanks — an imagination crafted by the real world violence of the past decade.

It shocked audiences because it confronted humanity and showed us at our worst, and unfortunately, an all too common thread of who we are as Americans.

Movie theater etiquette is HORRIBLE.

I’m going to start asking for a refund in any screening at a theater where I’m dealing with people talking and using their phones.

I haven’t seen a movie in months, maybe years, where people weren’t being straight up rude and annoying.

It’s one thing to glance at your phone. I have kids at home with babysitters. I get it. But to open up the camera app? Scroll social media? Show a friend a picture or video? Straight to jail.

Who’s in? Enough refunds and maybe they’ll care.

Either way, I’m done paying for a bad experience when the company behind it doesn’t care.
