PMC Staff and Board held their Strategic Planning retreat on Cliff Island this year! Long time member and TV host, Roger Berle, took the crew on his boat, "Freedom". The event was catered by island resident, Eliza Crowley, and her baking skills are A+!!!Roger also took us to the Whales of August house, as several movie buffs in the group were excited to see it! The salt air and having everyone together for the first time off of zoom helped dust off the cobwebs and we are raring to go with getting ready for the next few years of YOUR Public Access Station! Street Banner Artist Spotlight: Stacy Mitchell

Portland is My New Home!

“ I moved to Portland earlier this year from New York City with my husband who got a new job here in Maine. I work remotely for an NYC-based public sector consulting firm. In addition to providing coaching and support for design and innovation, I provide graphic design counsel across the firm including preparing reports and illustrations. I so enjoy this part of the work and would love to do more. I am thrilled I came across Creative Portland.” -Stacy Mitchell

PMC member Mechanics' Hall has a new librarian! Stop by and welcome her! Mechanics' Hall

Exciting news! Please join us in welcoming Heather Stewart Harvey, our new Library Director.

Heather joins us today in this newly expanded position for Mechanics' Hall. She steps into this role during an exciting and transformational moment in our organization's history as we work to build a vibrant, curious, diverse, inclusive, and welcoming environment open to all in our community.

In addition to being our head librarian, Heather will be taking a leading role in developing and executing new humanities programs, partnerships, and strategies across the organization to achieve these goals.

Before joining Mechanics' Hall, Heather was an instructional librarian and college faculty for many years, teaching in documentary and craft studies. She also has a Portland-based ceramic studio and is a member of the Maine Crafts Association, whose retail shop is on the first floor of our building. She is an avid gardener and musician, and she and her family walk the beaches of Maine in all seasons.

We are thrilled and grateful to welcome her to the team!
