✨Do Not Miss This!✨
On Saturday, June 19th at 8pm, join Indigo Arts Alliance as we tune in to “Juneteenth!” presented virtually by Coded by Young Women of Color’s (CYWOC) and the State Theatre, Portland, Maine. 💥💃🏾
Now in its second year, the annual “Juneteenth!” celebration showcases the talent of local Black musicians while raising money for organizations that empower Portland’s Black Community. This virtual event will be a streamed concert pre-recorded live from the empty State Theatre.

Featuring CYWOC’s founder Janae Sound, Rodney Mashia, Ali Ali, and Mozart Nunez, this year’s performance will benefit CYWOC as they kick off their pilot program, supporting ten young Women of Color through a 350-hour coding boot camp, followed by resume-building and staff augmentation opportunities with local tech partners. CYWOC is a non-profit whose mission is to educate, empower, and engage Women of Color to become innovators in Computer Science and emerging tech like AR/VR, with a goal of bringing systematic change to the tech industry. Talk about some real life Black Girl Magic! ✊🏾🌟

“Juneteenth!” will stream from the State Theatre’s page on Saturday, June 19th at 8:00 pm. The performance will be free to stream but donations are welcome! Indigo Arts Alliance is proud to support this new Black-Led organization by serving as CYWOC’s fiscal sponsor.💙

Stay tuned for more Juneteenth celebrations!

Beautiful. Thank you to PMC staff member Josh Riddle for creating this video.
My son, Andrew Abbott, sent me this audio of his neighborhood in Brooklyn cheering the health care workers and others who are helping to get us through the pandemic. I added some pre coronavirus images I took. Please share with us on the PMC page, images, or stories of what your friends and family around the globe are doing to survive this difficult time.
I hope you will join me in sending an email, or better yet, a letter to your Congress members. Do it to save PEG (Public Education Government) access stations. There is a sample email. Just fill in your info and send! Anyone anywhere in the country can sign and send. We are all affected by this. Help ensure diversity of opinion at a local level! (I paid the extra amount to have a letter delivered. Feel strongly about this issue!)
So excited to begin the new TV year with some special guests! "Pachios on the News" will be filming the first show of the new year tomorrow, at the State Capitol in Augusta with Governor Janet Mills! Hear what she has to say about her first few months in office and much more. This is an hour with the Governor, not a sound bite! Tune in to 1303 Wednesday night at 7:00 and check it out!
Beautiful new signage! Congratulations on becoming the Portland Media Center! Just what the citizens need - access to creating and sharing media content! Thank you!
Congratulations on your new ID, PMC!
Here is the schedule for the big event coming up this weekend! Tell your family and friends to tune in on their tv or on line as well stream this live! If they are in the area, they can also come down to the station and watch! If you watched the Emmy broadcast last night, you know that TV is where it is at!!!
