Inside Oregon Class @ 30/sec π³ Tina is trying to βkeep us in the fields.β is from my true fam with Hispanic heritage on my moms side. We grew up and watch my Uncle work his a** off for less pay and then finally get citizenship which was not easy. We balled-and-burlapped trees side-by-side in the fields for years in the Sandy area growing up so workers are my people, I am one.
This is my sonβs very first day of 1st grade as we walked into the class, and everything was in Spanish. Everything minus a few things, but yeah almost all Spanish. Yes, I have the video not just adio but there are kids' faces so it would all be blurry, but the court will get it.
Dozens of you said, βthey learn English at home so whatβs the problem with Spanishβ¦β and I hear you. Please hear me, the school/class is over 40% hispanic, not an issue with me, but they are teaching in Spanish to keep my Hispanic brothers and sisters in the fields, and white children back. They deserve a real opportunity in America and that is English. Do you know how many kids canβt read? Too many! Now we know one more reason why.
My Hispanic family told me they do not even want help teaching Spanish to their children, they said they will do it. For my son, it makes it harder to learn because they do in fact teach the lesson in Spanish first, then repeat in English. One of my many problems is that instead of providing specialized fast-track learning for Hispanic children to advance fast (some schools do, not his), they are keeping them down AND my son at the same time!!
This is discrimination and they are using Federal Funds to do it. This is not my only major issue with the school, there are several more videos coming. Stay tuned for more from inside Oregonβs 1st Grade Fight Club at Echo Shaw, weβve got a stack of evi to go through with you. Stay tuned.
Please share this. My son AND everyoneβs child in America deserves an opportunity to win, and you need English to win big in America, not Spanish. Please stop holding my son and my Spanish fam back. We all deserve better.
