The New York State Board of Regents announced on September 18, 2018 that Alhassan Susso has been named the 2019 New York State Teacher of the Year.
Incomer is honored to be here today interviewing Alhassan Susso, for the National issue. Being in one of the most diverse and poverty stricken school distracts in the country, Bronx is lucky to have him.
Alhassan Susso, an immigrant from Gambia, is responsible, with a team of dedicated teachers, for increasing the schools graduates from 34% in 2010 to 81%in 2018.
