‘I’m scared’

"Immigrants and refugees help power Maine, America’s oldest and whitest state, by picking blueberries, packing meat and tending to the elderly far from the fancy resorts on Vacationland’s rocky coast. But in a state that has one of the lowest rates of coronavirus infections, a pattern has emerged: Black Mainers — many of them immigrants — have been infected at disproportionate rates, accounting for approximately 23 percent of the cases in a state where they are less than 2 percent of the population."

Black people - many of them immigrants - make up less than two percent of Maine's population, but account for almost a quarter of its coronavirus cases.

Hey Facebook!
We have a new American family who moved into one of the units Layla, our publisher owns portland. It’s a family of five from Angola and they have three little kids.
All girls, ages 3, 8, and 10 and they are simply the kindest. No other way to say it.

This would be huge if they can start this new year in a new country and a new home with means to get off on the right foot.

They are in need of furniture and anything really that a home needs. From bedroom
Furniture to kitchen utensils, sofas, and tables of any kind. Some toys and books would be awesome for the kids.

Please inbox me if you can help.

They are sleeping on the floor tonight and als Houng they tell me
It’s not a big deal, it is. Let’s get them in beds. Time is of the essence.

Thank your good hearts in advance❤️
