Fern & Maple

Fern & Maple Wow friends & family with memorable, easy & affordable at-home celebrations. UGC for party brands.

My name is Natalie Mayhew and I am the creative director & founder of Fern & Maple. I love to craft, to DIY and to create parties for both adults and children – or as I like to put it, “for bigs and littles alike.”

I was born in Wellington, New Zealand, and although I have ventured far from my Kiwi roots, I remain inspired by childhood memories of "acting" as an event stylist for my mom’s get-to

gethers and hours spent rummaging through antique sales and up-cycling found objects with my dad. My blog includes party ideas, tips, tricks and crafts I enjoy trying out and hope you will too. I live in Portland with my (ever tolerant of my hoarding!) husband, David, my two gorgeous and crazy children, Harrison and Parker, and our chocolate lab, Elsa.

🎅🏻 I bet you’ve NEVER seen a Santa Ring Pop like this before… 💍✨
A giant, Santa-themed Ring Pop made entirely from Dollar Tree supplies — and yes, it actually opens and is filled with surprises. Keep watching… the reveal is worth it. 👀❤️

For this Santa Edition jumbo Ring Pop, I packed it with all things jolly:
💍 Santa hat Hershey’s Kiss
💍 Santa Lip Pop
💍 Mini Santa crafts
💍 Santa claw clip
💍 Chocolate twists in tiny Santa hats

How I made it:
💍 Painted a foam ring + sliced the edge with a foam cutter
💍 Glued the plate to the flat side
💍 Filled both bowl halves → stacked + sealed
🎅🏻 Cut white trim from a Santa hat (x2) → wrapped around center
🎅🏻 Added the black belt strip + buckle from a Santa bow
🎅🏻 Glued everything together onto the plate to finish the ring

✨ TIP: Only glue the outer edges of the white trim — that way you can slice it open cleanly to get to the goodies inside.

If you make this Santa Ring Pop, TAG ME — I want to see your version!

🚨 STRANGER THINGS IS BACK… and so am I 👀🍿
Going back through old party photos because I hosted a Stranger Things watch party way back at the beginning (!!) — and now that we’re finally entering the endgame, I’m fully in my Stranger Things Era again 🚲

I just rewatched Seasons 1–4 📺 before Season 5 Part 1 (totally worth it… might do it again 🙈) and the nostalgia is REAL. Between the Demogorgon drinking cups, stuck in the Upside Down details, waffle eating and all the 80s energy, I forgot how fun this theme is.
If you’re planning your own finale watch party, I rounded up ideas, inspo, AND supplies over on my blog so your last-night-in-Hawkins can be epic.

🔦 Who else is watching Season 5? Thoughts so far?!
Drop your theories, fav moments, and who you think survives the Upside Down… 👇

🍕 Candy pizza (don’t lose your ticket!)
🕷️ Gummy tarantula (the spider moment!)
🔥 Coal candy (that furnace 👀)
✨ Candy-filled Christmas lights (don’t step on these!)
☕ Hot cocoa essentials, of course

It’s nostalgic, fun, and so easy to recreate for your next Christmas movie night.
