Since we were already in California, we figured we’d head down to the Mexican border to hike the PCT. If you think it’s crazy to walk 2,600 miles to Canada check out the gas prices in CA and think about how much it would cost to drive there! 🧠 😜

But seriously, we’ve been dreaming of the PCT for a while. It’s been 8 years since completing the AT and we’ve been hearing the call of the trail. We had permits last year but life happened. Filia is 15 and Rainier is 10. We realized if we don’t step away now, there’s never going to be a better time.

Seven and Kendra dropped us off at the trailhead and hiked the first half mile with us. Most of the pictures at the start line were a disaster because all of our eyes are puffy from crying, saying goodbye to each other and our normal life for 6 months. The moment when dreams become reality is violent.

We’re not going to be posting on YouTube or this FB page because we want to focus on the kids and our mental health but we’ll be posting on the instagram page if you want to follow our journey. This post has videos you can see there. (Lenk n comentz)

Ahead of us is the desert, mountains and unknown and a s**t ton of dusty steps and togetherness.

8 years ago we took the fist steps of the longest journey of our lives — the 2200 miles Appalachian Trail. We started on a rainy day but found sunshine, strength and grinds along the way.

For the rest of the week I’ve discounted the Kindle version of my book so friends and family can grab it affordably. I’d love for you to get a copy! For 10 minutes and less than $2 you could really help me out by leaving a review. Also, you should be able to read the 2 first chapters in that amount of time which will give you a feel for the book and could possibly changing your life. Thanks in advance.
