We are so excited to share the cover of Shelter Dogs!!
Shelter Dogs is 12-year old author Amelie Anastasia’s fourth book, and is the debut work for illustrator Shafer Stedron, a Little House of Dreams author.
❤️🐶
A lifelong animal lover and proponent of adoption, at 12 years old Amelie Anastasia is releasing her fourth book, Shelter Dogs in July 2026, from which 100% of the profits from book sales will go to animal shelters. Amelie has already raised $9,000 for our local Little Traverse Bay Humane Society in Harbor Springs, Michigan through the book before it has even been released, and can’t wait to fundraise for shelters across the country starting July 21, 2026 when Shelter Dogs releases!
Amelie has been working on Shelter Dogs for the past two years, meeting dogs across the country from shelters, at author events, shelter fundraisers and at the farmer's market where you can often find Amelie connecting with readers and sharing her books with the world. ❤️🎨
A true opportunity to support animals, build stronger community connections, and show kids the power of their voices, Shelter Dogs is a beautiful and heartwarming collection of stories inspired by real shelter dogs (and one cat)!
