When a bike shop owner and a filmmaker uncover vintage bicycles hidden in the back of an old building, they embark on a journey to restore them — and in the process, rediscover the deep, emotional connections we have with the bikes of our past.

Myia Antone ( ) is one of only 30 fluent Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish Nation) language speakers left in her Nation — and she’s using mountain biking to help preserve it.

As she rides through her ancestral lands, Myia weaves language, culture, and community together, teaching others while naming native plants and landmarks in Sḵwx̱wú7mesh. “Inseparable: Myia” is a moving portrait of Indigenous joy, resilience, and connection, showing that healing is rooted in community and cultural pride.

We just spoke with our good friends at and we’re stoked to announce that Filmed By Bike 2025 will be happening in Portland at the Hollywood Theater from May 16th to 18th, 2025! Stay tuned for more info.

Dear Filmed by Bike Community,

After 21 incredible years, it’s time for me to pass the Filmed by Bike torch to new leadership. From day one, Filmed by Bike has always been about more than the films - it’s been about you, the Filmed by Bike community.

Together, we built something special, celebrating diverse stories and creating a space for connection, conversation and - most importantly - our love for bikes.

I’m thrilled to introduce the new owners: Alden Roth and Erik Douds! As avid cyclists and talented filmmakers, they’re dedicated to honoring the festival’s legacy while keeping our community at its core. I’m eager to see how their creativity will shape and grow the festival in exciting new ways.
